Bobby Hill is 21 in the released King of the Hill revival and works as a chef at a Dallas fusion restaurant. Later coverage identifies the restaurant as Robata Chane, which serves German-Japanese fusion. The reveal first appeared before the revival premiered; it is now part of the show’s established adult-life premise.
What is Bobby Hill doing in the revival?
Bobby works as a chef in Dallas. Pamela Adlon, his longtime voice actor, described his job in a 2024 interview report: “He’s a chef in a fusion restaurant in Dallas.” ComicBook.com reported Adlon’s reveal on May 18, 2024, before the revival was released.

How the revival approaches adult Bobby
Adlon has described adult Bobby as more centered and somewhat like his father, while emphasizing that Bobby was already fully himself as a child. Those are her reflections on the character, not a claim that Bobby has lost his familiar personality. ComicBook.com reported her comments from the ATX TV Festival on June 1, 2025.
Showrunner Saladin K. Patterson said the adult-life story was designed to let viewers adjust to Bobby’s changed circumstances alongside Hank, while keeping Bobby recognizable and making the transition relatable. TVLine published Patterson’s interview on August 4, 2025.

In a later interview, Adlon said Bobby chose not to attend college and pursued cooking and restaurant work instead. She also discussed the challenge of voicing an adult version of a character she had voiced for years. Parade published that interview on July 24, 2026.

The 2024 age-and-job reveal was a preview, not a report on an already released season. Hulu’s official schedule lists King of the Hill: Complete Season 14 as added on August 4, 2025. Hulu Press’s August 2025 schedule records that date.
