What Kayla Nicole said about dating
Speaking exclusively with People, Nicole said she had been actively dating since filming wrapped on season 3 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. She joked about the difficulty of dating, then qualified how things were going: “Successfully? Ah, the jury’s still out, but I’m dating.”
Asked whether she was ready to open herself to romance, Nicole said, “Love is one of the best parts of life,” and added, “I would never close myself off to ever experiencing love again.” She described love and heartbreak as connected experiences and said she would accept the risk of heartbreak for the chance to experience love.
What she said she was looking for
Nicole said she was open to any type of person, emphasizing character over a specific type. “I just want to be with someone that is a good character, that’s forthright, that’s loving, kind, funny — and maybe is taller than me, that’d be cool,” she said. She clarified: “But I am no stickler… I’m open to anyone that’s just a good person.”

The People article, by Skyler Caruso, says Nicole and Travis Kelce began dating in 2017, had an on-and-off relationship for five years, and called it quits in May 2022. The interview presented her comments about dating and love against that history; it does not establish anything about her current relationships.

The conversation came after Nicole’s season 3 appearance on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The article reports that she was one of two celebrity recruits among 16 contestants to pass selection in the finale, which aired February 5, 2025.
