Kanye West publicly defended Bianca Censori after her revealing appearance on the 2025 Grammy Awards red carpet, praising her and describing the preparation behind her outfit. He posted his response on February 6, four days after the couple’s February 2 arrival. His comments are his account; the available reporting does not include a direct statement from Censori about the dress or controversy.
What happened on the Grammys red carpet?
On February 2, 2025, Censori appeared with West at the 67th Grammy Awards red carpet in a highly revealing, transparent outfit that news coverage dubbed the “invisible dress.” The nickname described the look; it was not the name of a confirmed retail product or authorized replica.
The outfit drew widespread discussion, including debate over its appearance and what the moment meant. Those interpretations should be kept distinct from what the couple said and what event reporting established.
What did Kanye West say in his defense of Censori?
In a post on X reproduced by Rolling Stone, West described Censori’s first red-carpet appearance as opening “a whole new world.” He praised her as “smart, talented, brave and hot,” and wrote that he felt lucky to have her as his wife.

West also wrote, “We tailored that invisible dress 6 times,” and thanked outlets he felt had recognized the couple’s effort. The six fittings are West’s claim in the post, not an independently verified count or a separately confirmed account of the garment’s design. Rolling Stone’s February 6 report reproduced his comments.
Were West and Censori escorted out of the Grammys?
Rolling Stone reported that the couple did not enter the awards ceremony: they were not invited into it and were there for the red carpet. The outlet attributed the explanation to Grammy executive producer Raj Kapoor, who said West had no nomination, was not presenting or performing, and that those were generally the reasons guests occupied seats.

That account does not support saying the couple were “kicked out” or escorted from the ceremony. Their red-carpet appearance and entry to the awards show are separate parts of the event.
What can be said about Censori’s agency or feelings?
West’s praise is his perspective, not evidence of Censori’s private feelings or intent. The available coverage does not provide a direct statement from her about the outfit or the reaction to it.

Complex summarized fashion writer Raven Smith’s argument in Vogue that observers should not assume Censori lacked agency or was not enjoying the attention. That is an interpretation, not a substitute for Censori speaking for herself. Complex’s coverage presents that perspective alongside the controversy.
