It is a statement from the representatives, not independent verification of Bieber’s private health status.
What the representative said
TMZ quoted a representative saying: “The recurring narrative that Justin is using hard drugs is absolutely not true.” The wording addressed allegations of hard-drug use; it did not provide a medical assessment or further details about Bieber’s health. TMZ’s February 23 report attributed the statement to a representative, without naming that person.

When the denial was reported
TMZ published the statement on February 23, 2025. Althea Legaspi’s Rolling Stone report, published February 24, said the representatives for Justin and Hailey Bieber denied the allegations and identified TMZ as the first outlet to report their statement. India Today also published a February 24 account consistent with the denial: India Today’s report.
How the representatives described the speculation
As reported by Rolling Stone, the representatives criticized public attention to Bieber’s mental and physical health, calling it “exhausting and pitiful” and saying people remained committed to keeping “negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.” These are the representatives’ characterizations of the coverage and speculation.

What else the statement said about Bieber
Rolling Stone reported that the representatives described the previous year as “very transformative” for Bieber, saying he had ended close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him. They also said he was working on new music and focused on parenting his and Hailey Bieber’s newborn son. These details were presented as claims from the representatives, not independently verified developments.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the reports establish—and what they do not
The contemporaneous reports establish that a representative denied the hard-drug-use narrative and that the representatives objected to public fixation on Bieber’s health. They do not independently confirm Bieber’s private medical status. The denial should therefore be understood as the representatives’ account, not as a medical finding.
