Stephanie Jones, Justin Baldoni’s former publicist, sued Baldoni and others in New York in December 2024, alleging they coordinated a campaign to damage Blake Lively’s reputation and then blamed Jones. Those claims are allegations in a lawsuit, not findings of fact. A September 2026 report on later filings raised separate allegations about anonymous websites targeting Jones; Melissa Nathan denied masterminding one of them.
Who is Stephanie Jones, and what did she allege?
Jones is the former head of Jonesworks, the public relations firm that represented Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios. The Los Angeles Times reported that Jones represented them from 2017 until she was terminated in August 2024. In her December 2024 New York complaint, Jones accused Baldoni, Wayfarer, publicists Jennifer Abel and Melissa Nathan, and others of coordinating efforts to undermine Lively and shift blame for the alleged campaign onto Jones.
According to Jones’s complaint, the alleged strategy involved placing negative stories about Lively, using fake social-media accounts to amplify criticism, and drawing on Baldoni’s public image as a feminist ally. Jones also alleged that Abel used confidential company information to poach clients. These are claims made by Jones; the complaint itself does not prove that the alleged actions occurred or establish anyone’s liability.
What claims and remedies did Jones seek?
TheWrap reported that Jones’s New York filing included claims for breach of contract, tortious interference, breach of fiduciary duty, and defamation. She sought damages and an order to stop what she described as ongoing harassment and professional sabotage. These are the causes of action and relief requested in the complaint, not a court ruling that any defendant is liable.

What did the 2026 filings say about websites targeting Jones?
In a September 26, 2026, report, the Los Angeles Times described documents filed the previous week concerning anonymous websites that appeared in May 2024. The sites accused Jones of holding clients hostage and leaking secrets. Jones alleged that documents she received from former Jonesworks employee Katherine Case supported her suspicions about Nathan’s involvement.
The Times also reported alleged messages in which Nathan offered Case money to make website copy more detailed. Nathan denied being the mastermind behind stephaniejonesleaks.com. The reported messages and Jones’s suspicions remain disputed allegations; the report does not describe a judicial finding that Nathan created or directed the site.

How is Jones’s lawsuit different from Blake Lively’s case?
Jones’s New York lawsuit and Lively’s federal litigation involving Wayfarer are separate proceedings. The June 12, 2026, federal court opinion describes the Lively case and says the parties filed a settlement notice and dismissal stipulation on May 7, 2026; Lively’s motion for statutory fees was still pending at the time of that opinion. The Associated Press reported in July 2026 that Lively’s federal sexual-harassment claims had been dismissed because she could not bring them under federal law as an independent contractor, while her retaliation claim had been headed for trial before settlement.
