Toji Fushiguro appears again during the Shibuya Incident in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapters 95–96. Ogami, a curse user, uses a séance involving her grandson to bring him into the story—but the scene is not a straightforward resurrection of Toji’s original living body. The manga’s key distinction is between the body used in the ritual and the person whose presence takes over the encounter.
Where Toji returns in the story
Toji’s return takes place in the Shibuya Incident. The sequence spans Chapters 95 and 96: VIZ lists the chapters in order, and Shueisha’s Japanese catalog identifies them as “Shibuya Incident 13” and “Shibuya Incident 14.” Read the official chapter listings for Chapter 95 and Chapter 96.
It is a return within the story’s present action, not a change to Toji’s earlier history. Toji was already dead; what Shibuya shows is a séance-mediated appearance, not evidence that he had been living somewhere off-page.
Who brings Toji back—and how?
Ogami is the curse user behind the séance. The ritual uses her grandson as a medium, and Toji appears through that process. The scene should not be reduced to “Ogami resurrects Toji”: the manga distinguishes the body involved in the ritual from the extraordinary presence that emerges during it.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That distinction matters because “Toji’s body” and “Toji himself” are not interchangeable descriptions here. The chapters show an apparent return mediated by a séance, rather than Toji simply waking in his former body. For the sequence and its explanation, the primary reference is the manga itself; VIZ’s chapter pages identify the installments but do not reproduce enough of their text to establish every technical rule of Ogami’s ability.
Was Toji actually resurrected?
Not in the ordinary sense of a person returning to life in his original body. The event is temporary and tied to Ogami’s séance. It lets Toji act in the Shibuya conflict, but it does not undo his death or establish an ongoing revival.

The precise mechanics should be kept close to what the chapters depict. The available official chapter listings anchor the scene, but do not independently spell out every limit of the technique. Claims about exactly what is transferred, how the medium’s identity is affected, or the full rules governing the séance go beyond what those listings establish.
What Toji’s return means for the story
Plot-wise, the séance puts Toji into the Shibuya events as an active force rather than merely recalling him through another character’s memories. The emotional weight comes from who Toji is and his connection to Megumi; that significance is separate from the ritual’s mechanics. Readers may interpret the encounter’s implications for Toji’s agency or identity, but those interpretations should not be mistaken for additional rules stated by the manga.

Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 11 is VIZ’s official collection for this part of the Shibuya story. It covers a broader stretch of the arc, not only Toji’s return, and VIZ lists paperback and digital editions. Its availability may vary by retailer.
The anime’s second season adapted both “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” and the “Shibuya Incident” in 2023, according to the official anime site’s story page. For the manga sequence itself, the official chapter listings are the most direct way to locate Chapters 95–96. The series concluded in September 2024, as the official site notes.
