Wearing an eyepatch, she uses Resonance on Sukuna’s final finger and disrupts his counterattack, giving Yuji a crucial opening in the Shinjuku Showdown.
Spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 267 follow.
Nobara Kugisaki is alive. Chapter 267 delivers one of the series’ biggest reveals by showing that Nobara survived the injuries she suffered during the Shibuya Incident. She returns wearing an eyepatch, activates her Straw Doll Technique, and uses Resonance on Sukuna’s final finger at the most important moment of the Shinjuku Showdown.
Her return is more than an emotional surprise. Nobara’s attack disrupts Sukuna’s next move, giving Yuji Itadori a crucial opening. At the same time, Megumi Fushiguro continues resisting Sukuna from within. For the first time since Shibuya, the original Yuji–Megumi–Nobara trio is effectively contributing to the same decisive battle.
What happens in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 267?
The chapter revisits the mystery surrounding Sukuna’s final finger and Yuta Okkotsu’s earlier plan involving Rika. It then reveals why the finger was preserved—and why Nobara’s technique could reach Sukuna despite her being away from the main battlefield.

Yuta’s plan involving Sukuna’s finger was a bluff
Yuta previously appeared to have allowed Rika to consume Sukuna’s final finger. The apparent goal was to use Yuta’s Copy technique: by having Rika consume part of a target’s body, Yuta could potentially reproduce that target’s cursed technique.
Chapter 267 clarifies that Yuta did not give Rika Sukuna’s last finger. The finger Rika consumed was one of Yuji’s fingers instead. Yuta’s strategy had a limitation: consuming only one of Sukuna’s fingers would not give him all the information needed to properly understand and reproduce Sukuna’s Shrine.
This also explains Sukuna’s observation that Yuji is missing two fingers rather than only the finger associated with Sukuna’s transfer into Megumi. One of Yuji’s fingers was used as part of Yuta’s plan, while Sukuna’s genuine final finger was kept in reserve for something else.
The final finger becomes Nobara’s target
The preserved finger is the physical link Nobara needs for Resonance. Her Straw Doll Technique allows her to transmit an attack through a connected body part or effigy. By striking Sukuna’s finger, Nobara can affect Sukuna remotely, even though she is not standing beside Yuji and the others in the center of the fight.

That detail gives the final finger a new purpose. It is not merely a remaining piece of Sukuna’s power or an unresolved plot object. It becomes the target that allows Nobara to enter the battle at exactly the right moment.
Nobara returns with an eyepatch
The defining panel of the chapter reveals Nobara alive and able to use her cursed technique. She appears with an eyepatch covering the side of her face damaged during the Shibuya Incident.
The chapter confirms the result of Nobara’s recovery, but it does not provide an exhaustive medical explanation for every stage of it. Readers learn that she survived and can fight; the precise details of how she recovered, how long she was treated, and what limitations remain are not fully explained in Chapter 267.

That restraint preserves some of the uncertainty that surrounded her fate. After Shibuya, the series left Nobara’s condition deliberately ambiguous. Characters and readers had strong reasons to believe she was probably dead, but the story never supplied an immediate, definitive confirmation. Chapter 267 finally resolves that question: Nobara is alive.

Nobara activates Resonance against Sukuna’s last finger just as Sukuna is preparing to continue his counterattack. The strike severely disrupts him and prevents him from freely completing his intended move.
Yuji immediately capitalizes on that interruption. He continues pressing Sukuna with his own attacks, turning Nobara’s long-awaited return into a direct battle contribution. Nobara does not single-handedly defeat Sukuna, but her intervention changes the timing of the confrontation and creates the opening Yuji needs.
The chapter’s battle arrangement is therefore divided among all three former classmates:
- Yuji attacks Sukuna directly and takes advantage of the opening.
- Megumi resists Sukuna from within, undermining his control.
- Nobara attacks remotely through Resonance by targeting Sukuna’s final finger.
Nobara’s role is tactically important precisely because it is different from Yuji’s. She does not need to overpower Sukuna physically or reach him across the battlefield. Her technique exploits the connection represented by the finger and interrupts the fight from a distance.
Why Nobara’s return matters
It resolves one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s longest-running uncertainties
Nobara’s fate had remained one of the manga’s most painful unresolved questions. Her injuries in Shibuya appeared catastrophic, and the story’s silence encouraged readers to interpret that silence as an indirect confirmation of her death. Chapter 267 transforms that uncertainty into suspense that was intentionally held until the final battle.
It makes the final finger essential to the climax
Without the preserved finger, Nobara could not use this particular remote attack on Sukuna. The revelation also retroactively explains why the finger remained available after Yuta’s Copy strategy. What seemed like a detail connected to Yuta’s technique becomes the means by which Nobara can affect the strongest enemy in the series.

It restores the original trio at the decisive point
Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara began the story as a first-year team, but the trio was fractured after the Shibuya Incident. Chapter 267 echoes that early dynamic in a radically more consequential setting. Yuji fights from the outside, Megumi struggles from within Sukuna’s possession, and Nobara supports the attack through her cursed technique.
This is not a return to the lighthearted team dynamic of the series’ opening chapters. The circumstances are far darker, and the characters have endured enormous losses. But structurally and emotionally, the chapter places the three original classmates against the central antagonist together again.
Is Nobara’s return canon or a leak?
Nobara’s return in Chapter 267 is a canon manga development, not merely a pre-release theory or leaked prediction. The chapter received an official English release through VIZ/Shonen Jump on August 25, 2024. The Japanese publication date is listed as August 26, 2024; the difference reflects publication calendars and time zones, not two different chapters.
Shueisha’s official listing places Chapter 267 under the title “Inhuman Makyo, Shinjuku Showdown, Part 38,” between Chapters 266 and 268. It is included in Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 30, the final Japanese collected volume, which was published on December 25, 2024.
Readers should distinguish official chapter coverage from pre-release leak reports. Leak discussions may have circulated before the official release, but the events described here are confirmed by the published chapter.
Where Chapter 267 fits in the final volume
Chapter 267 is part of the concluding Sukuna battle and appears in the final volume’s sequence of chapters. For readers who prefer collected editions, the official Volume 30 contents place it alongside the surrounding Shinjuku Showdown chapters, including Chapters 264 through 271.

The English edition of Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 30 is listed by Simon & Schuster as a VIZ Media trade paperback with an announced publication date of May 12, 2026 and ISBN 9781974763405. Availability can vary by country and retailer, so readers should check the official publisher or an authorized bookseller rather than unofficial scans.
If you want to revisit the buildup, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga collection is especially useful for following Nobara’s earlier appearances and the Shibuya Incident material that made her fate such a major unanswered question. Reading that continuity in sequence also makes the timing of her Resonance attack—and the significance of the final finger—much clearer.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What Chapter 267 does not confirm
- It does not explain every medical or logistical detail of Nobara’s recovery.
- It does not show Nobara defeating Sukuna by herself.
- It does not make her return an anime-original development; the reveal occurs in the manga.
- It does not erase the damage she suffered in Shibuya. The eyepatch indicates that her recovery has not restored her completely to her earlier condition.
The important confirmed point is narrower and stronger: Nobara survived, she can use Resonance, and her attack on Sukuna’s final finger creates the decisive opening for Yuji in the climax.

Bottom line
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 267 shocks fans by bringing Nobara Kugisaki back from the uncertainty that began in Shibuya. Yuta’s apparent use of Sukuna’s final finger was a deception, because the finger was preserved for Nobara’s Resonance. Her remote attack interrupts Sukuna at the critical moment, allowing Yuji to press forward while Megumi continues resisting from within.
Nobara’s return is therefore both an emotional payoff and a carefully positioned battle tactic. It reunites the original trio at the climax without pretending that Nobara alone can win the fight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Nobara really alive in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 267?
Yes. Chapter 267 depicts Nobara Kugisaki alive and using her Straw Doll Technique’s Resonance against Sukuna’s final finger. It does not explain every detail of her recovery, but her survival is no longer left as a theory.
Why was Sukuna’s final finger saved?
Yuta did not give Rika Sukuna’s actual final finger. Rika consumed one of Yuji’s fingers as part of Yuta’s Copy strategy, while Sukuna’s genuine final finger was preserved so Nobara could target it with Resonance.
Does Nobara defeat Sukuna by herself?
No. Nobara’s Resonance severely disrupts Sukuna and creates an opening, but Yuji continues the direct attack and Megumi resists Sukuna from within. The climax is a coordinated effort, not a solo victory by Nobara.
