Who is the informant?
The informant is Faheem Ellahie, played by Omid Abtahi. The episode premise describes Faheem as a longtime source with a complicated relationship with Jubal; Faheem has known him at his worst. That history makes Jubal’s effort to find him more personal than a routine attempt to verify information.
What is at stake in “Redoubt”?
Faheem brings intelligence about an impending large-scale terror attack. Because the details do not add up, Jubal has to determine whether the threat is real and what Faheem’s disappearance means. The reported setup leaves those questions unresolved rather than establishing the truth of the warning in advance.
