This is the latest update located in the reports reviewed; it does not establish whether the couple have made private plans since the appearance. No wedding date or venue was reported.

Scott’s recent comments echo the couple’s earlier emphasis on keeping the event intimate and meaningful. In October 2025, he told Us Weekly that they had no update and joked, “Yeah, we are the worst at planning that. We’re great at planning other parties.” He said they wanted to gather friends and family, have a good time, and keep the wedding “very, very intimate.”

Deschanel said they were exploring options, not rushing
At the December 2025 premiere of Merv, Deschanel described the process as “more exploratory,” according to Just Jared, which quoted her remarks to People. She said, “The bar is high for throwing a party. So it has to be really good. So that’s why its taking a long time.” She also said they were not in a rush after being together so long and wanted to find “the right place and situation” for something special and fun.
Family life and other commitments have come up before
Scott has previously mentioned a busy schedule and family commitments when asked about the plans. In August 2024, he told Entertainment Tonight he had no update, citing recent travel, a child’s birthday, another event, and a charity commitment. He said they did not feel settled yet but expected to figure it out. These are explanations the couple have given at different times, not evidence of relationship trouble.
