John Cena’s final match already happened: he faced Gunther at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Gunther won by submission. The event streamed in the United States on Peacock, not Netflix; WWE’s Netflix deal for Raw did not make Netflix the home of this separate special.
What happened in John Cena’s final match?
Cena faced Gunther in the headline match of Saturday Night’s Main Event at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on December 13, 2025. Gunther defeated Cena by submission, according to WWE’s official event archive. The event organizer, Events DC, announced the date, venue and headline match.
WWE described the bout as the end of Cena’s Farewell Tour and his very last match in the event video description. Peacock’s episode listing calls it the final match of his 26-year career. Those descriptions identify the bout as a completed event, not a future booking.
Why wasn’t the match on Netflix?
WWE programming does not all share one streaming home. Raw streamed on Netflix, but the U.S. distribution arrangement for this Saturday Night’s Main Event placed the special on Peacock. NBC Sports announced that the series would stream live and exclusively on Peacock in the United States; see its announcement of the Peacock partnership.

Netflix’s account of Cena’s final Raw appearance treats it as a separate event from his December 13 final match. That distinction is the key: the Netflix connection applied to Raw, while Peacock carried this special in the U.S. Netflix’s WWE programming deal did not mean every WWE event would air there.
Where can you watch the match?
For viewers in the United States, Peacock was the event’s streaming destination. The sources confirming that U.S. arrangement do not establish today’s Peacock subscription price, whether the replay remains available, or the terms for accessing it.
