Charlie Foster
Charlie is Foster’s older son. The Yale College Arts biography page describes him as a theater enthusiast, and Yale production records identify him in student theater work, including a production of Pippin. Those records support describing theater as a significant part of his public profile, but they do not establish a long-term professional career.

Foster has also spoken about Charlie’s interest in performance. In comments reported by the Golden Globes’ archive, she said in 2015 that her older son liked acting and improvisation, while acknowledging that she did not know whether he would ultimately make acting his profession. In 2025, BroadwayWorld reported that Charlie B. Foster was cast in Girls Will Be Girls, a world-premiere play scheduled for an Off-Broadway run at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center in New York. Because that information comes from a trade-style casting report rather than a complete official production archive, the careful description is that he was reported as part of the cast. Kit Foster
Kit is Foster’s younger son and has a more private public profile. Foster referred to him as her “scientist son” at the 2025 Golden Globes, contrasting him with Charlie, whom she called her “actor son.” That shorthand reflects their publicly reported interests; it does not by itself establish Kit’s current job, employer or professional title. Kit’s strongest public academic record comes from Princeton University’s Department of Chemistry. In that article, Kit discussed developing “chemical intuition” and eventually immersing himself in drug-discovery chemistry. Princeton’s wording supports describing him as a chemistry graduate with substantial research experience and a strong academic record. It does not confirm that he is currently a practicing scientist, pharmaceutical researcher, graduate student or employee of a particular organization.
Princeton’s 2024 chemistry awards announcement lists Kit H. Bernard Foster among the students receiving high honors. It also identifies him as an inductee into Sigma Xi and as the recipient of the American Chemical Society Division of Organic Chemistry Award. Who raised Jodie Foster’s sons?
