Which JioHotstar plan is best for TV?
For television viewing, start with Super. It supports mobile, web, and supported living-room devices, includes Hollywood, and permits up to two concurrent devices. That combination suits a person watching on a television while another household member uses a phone or browser.
Premium provides the same broad device categories but raises the simultaneous-device allowance to four. It is the better fit when several people regularly watch at once or when ad-free entertainment is worth the extra cost. “Ad-free” does not remove advertising from live sports or other live shows; those live programmes remain an explicit exception.
Mobile is not the TV-oriented option in this comparison. The announced allowance is one mobile device at a time, and the tier is intended for phone viewing rather than supported television or web use. If a television is a requirement, compare Super and Premium instead of choosing Mobile solely because its monthly price is lower.
Supported-device qualification
JioStar describes Super and Premium as available on mobile, web, and supported living-room devices. “Supported” matters: compatibility can depend on the specific television, operating system, app version, or connected device. Check the service’s current device information and the plan details shown during sign-up before assuming a particular television model is covered.
Can you watch JioHotstar on two devices?
Yes, but only Super and Premium provide two-or-more simultaneous streams under the announced new-subscriber matrix. Super allows up to two devices at the same time; Premium allows up to four. Mobile allows one mobile device at a time.

“Devices” here means concurrent viewing, not simply the number of phones, browsers, or televisions on which an account might be signed in. If two people need to press play at the same time, choose a tier whose concurrent allowance covers that use. A household of three or four regular viewers needs Premium rather than Super.
Practical household examples
- One phone, one viewer: Mobile is sufficient if television and web access are unnecessary.
- Phone plus television: Super covers two simultaneous devices and supported living-room access.
- Parents and children watching separately: Premium’s four-device allowance leaves more room for concurrent viewing.
- Occasional second-screen use: Super may be adequate if the second stream is not used while four other streams are active.
How the advertising difference works
Mobile and Super are ad-supported tiers. Premium removes ads from entertainment under the announced plan description, but it does not promise an ad-free experience for every type of programming. Live sports and other live shows can still contain ads on Premium.
That distinction is important during cricket or another live event: paying for Premium does not mean every commercial break, sponsorship element, or live-show insertion disappears. If your main reason for upgrading is live sport, treat the live-content exception as part of the product rather than a footnote.

Premium makes the most sense for viewers who watch a lot of on-demand entertainment, are particularly distracted by advertising, and also need four concurrent devices. If you mainly watch live sports, the ad-free benefit is narrower than the headline suggests, so Super may be the more economical choice unless the extra device capacity is also valuable.
Does JioHotstar Mobile include Hollywood?
Hollywood is not included in Mobile’s base access. JioStar lists a separate Hollywood add-on for Mobile at ₹49 monthly, ₹129 quarterly, or ₹399 annually. Super and Premium include Hollywood in the announced new-subscriber plans.

At the listed monthly prices, Mobile plus the monthly Hollywood add-on totals ₹128 (₹79 + ₹49), compared with ₹149 for monthly Super. That ₹21 difference is a calculation from the published prices, not a promise that every film or series has identical availability across tiers. Super also adds supported TV and web access and a second concurrent device, so compare the complete feature set rather than the Hollywood line alone.
When Mobile plus the add-on can be sensible
The add-on can suit a phone-only viewer who wants Hollywood occasionally and does not need a second stream or supported large-screen access. Before purchasing, confirm whether the add-on renews on the same schedule as the base plan and review the exact terms presented in your account.

Monthly billing minimizes commitment. It is the safer choice if you are testing the catalogue, expect to watch for only a short period, or want to reassess after a major sports season.
Quarterly billing requires three months up front but costs less than paying three separate monthly charges at the listed rates. Annual billing requires the largest immediate payment and rewards viewers who expect to use the service for most of the year.

A simple duration decision
- Estimate how many months you realistically expect to watch.
- Compare that period with the amount you must pay immediately for quarterly or annual billing.
- Choose monthly if flexibility matters more than the nominal discount.
- Choose annual only when you are comfortable paying the entire amount and expect to keep the subscription active.
Do you already get JioHotstar with a Jio recharge?
You might. Jio’s official offer terms describe a limited-period benefit for eligible customers that can include JioHotstar Mobile plus Hollywood with specified recharge plans. The terms identify, among other conditions, ₹349-and-above plans offering 2 GB per day and ₹399-and-above plans offering 2.5 GB per day or more. Eligibility, benefit limits, validity, and other conditions apply.
This is not a universal or permanent inclusion. Check the current offer page and your own recharge account before buying a separate subscription: Jio’s Jio Hotstar offer terms and conditions. Compare the total cost of the mobile plan you already need with the price of a standalone subscription. Do not add a recharge solely for a streaming benefit unless its data, validity, and total price make sense for you.
What existing subscribers should know
JioStar says existing subscribers continue on their existing plans and prices while auto-renewal remains active. Therefore, the new-subscriber prices in the table should not be treated as an automatic migration price for every current account.
Before changing or cancelling anything, open your account’s subscription or billing page and check the displayed plan, next renewal date, renewal amount, and any included benefits. Switching can expose you to the current offer rather than preserving an older arrangement, so make the decision using the account-specific terms shown at the time.
Plan recommendations by viewing habit
Pick Mobile when all of these are true
- You primarily watch on one phone.
- You accept advertising.
- You do not need supported TV or web access.
- Hollywood is optional, or the ₹49 monthly, ₹129 quarterly, or ₹399 annual add-on still fits your budget.
Pick Super when these needs matter
- You want to watch on a supported television or through the web.
- Two people may watch concurrently.
- You want Hollywood included rather than purchased as a Mobile add-on.

Pick Premium when the extra capacity is real
- Up to four simultaneous devices are useful in your household.
- You want ad-free entertainment for on-demand viewing.

Suppose one phone viewer wants Hollywood every month. Mobile plus its monthly add-on is ₹128 at the listed rates. For a four-person household, Mobile and Super do not meet the stated simultaneous-device requirement. Premium costs ₹299 monthly, ₹699 quarterly, or ₹2,199 annually and raises the allowance to four devices. That price buys capacity as well as the ad-free entertainment benefit, but it does not turn live programming into universally ad-free viewing.
For a short-term viewer, three months of monthly Mobile billing would total ₹237 (₹79 × 3), compared with the listed ₹149 quarterly price. Three months of monthly Super would total ₹447, compared with ₹349 quarterly; Premium would total ₹897, compared with ₹699 quarterly. These are direct calculations from the published rates and assume the listed prices remain available to the account.
Before you subscribe: a five-point check
- Confirm the account type: New subscriber, existing subscriber, or eligible Jio-recharge customer can produce different terms.
- Confirm the screens: Check whether you need phone-only viewing, web access, or a supported living-room device.
- Count simultaneous viewers: One, two, or up to four streams points to Mobile, Super, or Premium respectively.
- Read the ad wording: Premium’s ad-free entertainment promise excludes live sports and other live shows.

What JioStar says about the service
JioStar describes the tier changes as a way to give viewers more flexibility while supporting investment in premium storytelling, live sports, and streaming at scale. The company reports more than 450 million monthly active users, over 300,000 hours of entertainment, and more than one billion Google Play downloads in its January 2026 announcement. Those figures are company-reported platform claims, not independent measurements, and they are background context rather than a reason to choose one tier over another.
The practical choice remains personal: match the plan to your screens, concurrent viewers, tolerance for ads, Hollywood needs, payment horizon, and any verified bundle already attached to your mobile service.
