The 25th-anniversary edition of Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes: Live at the Greek was released worldwide on March 14, 2025, after being announced on February 12. Expanded to 36 tracks, it restores Black Crowes performances missing from the original album and includes 16 previously unreleased tracks, according to the band’s official store.
What changed in the anniversary reissue?
The original release captured Jimmy Page performing with The Black Crowes at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre in 1999. Its set included Led Zeppelin songs and blues and R&B standards, but not songs by The Black Crowes. The Associated Press reported that the omission resulted from contractual restrictions after the band had left its label.
The 2025 edition expands the album to 36 tracks and adds 16 previously unreleased tracks, figures listed by The Black Crowes Official Store. Among the restored Crowes performances identified by AP are “No Speak No Slave,” “Hard to Handle,” “Wiser Time,” “Remedy” and “She Talks to Angels.” The expanded material also includes Zeppelin songs, outtakes, soundcheck performances and “Jams,” a piece written by Rich Robinson and Page while jamming.
For the musicians, the collaboration was an unusually energetic experience. Chris Robinson recalled, “The whole project was special, very electric for us, very something very alive.” Page said, “I felt really bad about that because they extended this hand of friendship that I could come and join the band.” These are their recollections, not an independent assessment of the recordings. Is the reissue remixed and remastered?
Yes. The February 2025 announcement described the expanded edition as newly remixed and remastered. The official store credits Kevin Shirley with production, mixing and remastering. That identifies the credited work; it does not establish a comparative sound-quality judgment against the earlier release.
Which editions are available?
The official store lists three physical configurations. The official discography also identifies CD, digital and vinyl formats. Disc count and format are established, but the available listings do not support assuming that every edition has an identical tracklist or packaging. What do the release dates mean?
The band announced the anniversary edition on February 12, 2025, and the worldwide release followed on March 14, 2025. Why the restored songs matter
The expanded set addresses a notable gap in the earlier album: the absence of The Black Crowes’ own songs from a collaboration in which the band performed alongside Page. AP’s account connects that omission to the band’s contractual circumstances at the time. The restored material makes the anniversary release a fuller record of the partnership, rather than simply a reissue of the original album with new mastering.
