Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration features recordings of Carter’s final Sunday School lessons, delivered at Maranatha Baptist Church in Georgia. The Associated Press reported that Darius Rucker, Lee Ann Womack, and Jon Batiste are also featured on the recording.
Which Grammy category did it win?
The Recording Academy’s official category name is Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording. The Academy describes it as an award for an album in spoken-word format. Carter’s recording won at the 67th Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025.
The other nominees were All You Need Is Love: The Beatles in Their Own Words, …And Your Ass Will Follow, Dolly Parton’s Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, and Barbra Streisand’s My Name Is Barbra.

Who accepted the award for Jimmy Carter?
Jason Carter accepted the Grammy for his grandfather. In his acceptance speech, he said, “Having his words captured in this way for my family and for the world is truly remarkable,” and thanked the Academy.
