Roger Craig revealed during the February 21, 2025 episode of the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament that he and fellow champion Julia Collins are married. The pair first met in New York, then reconnected at the show’s 2019 All-Star Game.
Who did Roger Craig marry?
Craig married Julia Collins, a former Jeopardy! champion whose 20-game winning run made her one of the show’s most successful contestants. During his tournament introduction, host Ken Jennings asked Craig what was new since they had last played together at the 2019 All-Star Game.
Craig replied: “Well, at the All-Star Game, I reconnected with Julia Collins. I first met her in New York about 10 years ago and we’re married now.” He added, “Yeah. It’s the best thing to ever happen to me.” Jennings responded, “Wow. Jeopardy! power couple.” TV Insider’s February 21, 2025 recap transcribed the exchange.
How did Craig and Collins reconnect?
They had met in New York roughly a decade before Craig’s announcement, then crossed paths again at the 2019 All-Star Game. Craig described the tournament as the moment they reconnected. The show’s Inside Jeopardy! transcript later corroborated that account: a speaker identified as Sarah said the pair had rekindled their relationship after reconnecting at All-Stars. She also said she had known they were happily married but had kept it secret. The transcript does not establish Sarah’s full name or role. The February 24, 2025 transcript provides the show-side confirmation.

What was Collins known for on Jeopardy!?
Collins won 20 consecutive games in 2014, earning $429,100, according to TV Insider’s 2025 report. The outlet described that total as the third-highest in the show’s history at the time of her run and ninth-highest by the time of its report. Those rankings are snapshots, not timeless records.
Collins also held the women’s consecutive-win mark until Amy Schneider surpassed it in 2021, TV Insider reported. The figures help explain why Craig’s announcement was framed as a marriage between two major champions, while avoiding the misleading claim that Collins still holds that record.

Craig’s own Jeopardy! record
Craig was also a prominent returning champion. TV Insider describes him as a Season 27 champion and 2011 Tournament of Champions winner; Us Magazine reported that his 2010 appearances brought him $231,200. Accounts differ on the precise length of his original winning streak, so a specific streak count is not reliable here. The reports agree on his status as a notable champion.
Craig made the marriage announcement while competing against Maya Wright and John Focht in the 2025 Invitational Tournament. He won that game and advanced to the semifinals, according to TV Insider. Us Magazine’s February 22, 2025 report independently covered the announcement and Craig’s account of reconnecting with Collins.
