The film includes sexual references, marijuana use and nudity, but the available classification guidance does not verify the specific “threesomes” claim. Here is what the sources establish about the film and its content.
What Wanderlust is about
Directed by David Wain, Wanderlust follows Manhattan couple George and Linda after George loses his high-stress job. Their road trip leads them to Elysium, a free-spirited community. Universal identifies Aniston and Rudd among the stars and lists the film as a 2012 release on its title page.
What the content advisories say
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) lists strong sex references, including references to sexual practices; a couple of scenes showing marijuana smoking; and full male and female nudity in a naturist context. Its UK home-entertainment entry is dated May 1, 2012, and names Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd as distributor. The BBFC also has a separate cinema entry dated January 9, 2012, and lists different runtimes for the two versions; the runtime therefore depends on the release. See the BBFC classification entries.
For the United States, Universal gives the film an R rating for sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use. That rating is a separate US classification, not a scene-by-scene description. The two sources establish the presence of sexual references, marijuana smoking and nudity, but the BBFC advice does not substantiate the headline’s specific “threesomes” wording.

What was reported about Aniston’s topless scene
In a February 22, 2012 report, CBS News’ Lauren Moraski said the theatrical scene showed Aniston topless from behind, with her breasts pixelated. That is a report about the scene’s presentation; it should not be confused with the BBFC’s broader description of male and female nudity in a naturist context. Read the CBS News report.
