Jake E. Lee’s October 2024 updates described serious injuries after he was shot in Las Vegas, followed by a return home to recuperate. On October 15, his representative said he was conscious, doing well in intensive care and expected to recover fully. Lee later said he had been shot three times and detailed a broken rib and damaged lung. These are historical updates, not a new report on his health in 2026.
What Lee’s representative said on October 15
Lee was shot in Las Vegas on October 15, 2024. His representative, Amanda Cagan, told the Los Angeles Times that he had been walking his dog when the shooting happened. Cagan said Lee was “fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital” and “expected to fully recover.”
That was an early prognosis attributed to his representative, not an independently verified medical conclusion or a current assessment. The same report said authorities then believed the shooting was random; that was an initial characterization, not a final finding about motive.
What Lee said about his injuries
In an update posted October 17 and reported the next day, Lee clarified: “To clarify, I was shot three times.” He described wounds to his forearm and foot, a broken rib and a damaged lung. He also said police found 15 shell casings, a detail reported as Lee’s account rather than as an independently reviewed police record. Lee said, “I feel relatively very lucky.” His update was covered by the Los Angeles Times and Fox News.

What police reported about the shooting
Contemporaneous reports quoting the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded at approximately 2:42 a.m. on October 15 to the 11000 block of Alora Street. They found a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds and transported him to a hospital. Police said at the time that no arrests had been made and the investigation was ongoing, according to the Los Angeles Times and Fox News.
Lee said he was home recuperating by October 20
On October 20, Lee said he was “back home recuperating.” He also described encountering two people he characterized as thieves near a neighbor’s motorcycle before the shooting. That account, reported by Blabbermouth.net, is Lee’s description of what happened; it does not establish the other people’s identity or purpose, or a police finding about motive.

What is—and is not—known from these updates
The October reports establish what Lee, his representative and police said at those points in time. They do not establish Lee’s present-day medical condition or the investigation’s final disposition. “Doing well” referred to the representative’s October 15 description of Lee’s condition in intensive care, not to a later health update.
