Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s Anaconda is listed for streaming on Netflix in the researched U.S. market as of August 14, 2026. The 2025 film is a PG-13 comedy and action-adventure inspired by the earlier creature feature, with 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital editions also confirmed by Sony Pictures.
The movie’s “new on streaming this week” label is a dated editorial hook, not a guarantee that the film first reached streaming this week. Netflix Tudum announced its streaming availability on March 25, 2026, so readers should treat the Netflix listing and the date of this availability check separately.

Where can I watch Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s Anaconda?
Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s Anaconda is listed for streaming on Netflix in the researched U.S. market as of August 14, 2026. Netflix’s official title page identifies the film as a PG-13 comedy, and Netflix Tudum’s streaming announcement describes its jungle-set story about friends attempting to remake their favorite creature feature.
The “new on streaming this week” wording needs a date qualification. Netflix Tudum published its streaming announcement on March 25, 2026, while this availability research was completed on August 14, 2026. The film is therefore confirmed in the researched Netflix listing, but the phrase should not be read as proof that the movie first arrived on streaming during the current week.

What is the 2025 Anaconda about?
The 2025 Anaconda follows Doug, played by Jack Black, and Griff, played by Paul Rudd, longtime friends who have always wanted to remake their favorite film. A group of friends enters the Amazon rainforest to produce its own version of a beloved movie, but a real giant anaconda turns the filmmaking trip into a survival adventure.
Sony Pictures describes the project as “an entirely original comedy, inspired by the cinematic ‘classic’ ‘Anaconda,’” featuring Doug and Griff. That official description is why calling the film simply a direct remake would be misleading. The 2025 movie uses the earlier film as inspiration while presenting a new comedy and adventure story. Read Sony Pictures Entertainment’s official film description for the studio’s wording.
Is the new Anaconda a remake?
The new Anaconda is not best described as a conventional direct remake. Sony Pictures calls it an original comedy inspired by the earlier Anaconda. The premise is deliberately self-aware: the characters are trying to remake a movie they love, and their fictional production collides with a genuine giant snake in the rainforest.
What are the viewing options?
Netflix is the primary confirmed subscription-streaming option in the researched U.S. context. U.S. availability cross-checks also list transactional options through services and retailers including Amazon Video, the Apple TV Store, Fandango at Home, and Spectrum On Demand; rental, purchase, pricing, and inventory can change.
| Option | Access model | What it means | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Netflix | Subscription streaming | Watch through the Netflix catalog while the title remains available in the applicable region and plan. | Viewers who want immediate streaming access without buying a separate copy. |
| Digital rental or purchase | Transactional access | Availability may include Amazon Video, Apple TV Store, Fandango at Home, and Spectrum On Demand in the U.S. | Viewers who do not subscribe to Netflix or want a separate digital transaction. |
| 4K UHD or Blu-ray | Physical ownership | Sony confirms physical editions, subject to retailer inventory and compatible playback equipment. | Collectors and viewers who want a copy that is not dependent on a streaming catalog. |
| Digital edition | Digital purchase | Sony confirms a digital edition; platform terms and availability vary by storefront. | Viewers who want to buy rather than subscribe or rent. |
JustWatch’s U.S. availability listing is a useful cross-check for rental and purchase services, but aggregator listings and prices should be verified at the time of viewing.

- Blu-ray
Can I buy Anaconda on Blu-ray or 4K?
Yes. Sony Pictures confirms 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital editions of the 2025 film. A physical edition is an optional ownership alternative, not a requirement for watching the movie on Netflix. Check the exact edition, seller, price, delivery status, and regional compatibility before buying.
For collectors, Anaconda 2025 4K UHD is the most relevant purchase option to compare with the Blu-ray. A 4K disc generally requires compatible hardware, while Blu-ray requires a Blu-ray player or compatible console. Sony’s official page lists the home-entertainment formats and purchase destinations, including Amazon, but retailer inventory may change.
What kind of movie is it?
Netflix categorizes the film as comedy and action-adventure and uses descriptors including buddy comedy and irreverent. The PG-13 rating makes the title different from a purely family-oriented jungle adventure. The combination of self-aware filmmaking, friendship, rainforest danger, and creature-feature action is the clearest guide to what viewers should expect.
