Harold Perrineau expected FROM would get a fourth season, but he and Elizabeth Saunders did not confirm that a renewal was settled. Saunders’s “long game” comment referred to the show’s broader storytelling plan, not a promise of a particular number of seasons. The question is now historical: MGM+ lists Season 4 as premiering on April 19, 2026, and says the series is renewed for Season 5.
What did the stars say about a Season 4 renewal?
In comments reported before the renewal was official, Harold Perrineau, who plays Boyd, said he assumed the show would continue. He pointed to its apparent worldwide popularity, but made clear he had not asked the writers about the future: “I’m assuming that we’re going to have a season 4. It seems like worldwide that people are really enjoying the show, and so I’m just going to assume that there is one, but I don’t ask any questions.” The remark was an expectation, not confirmation from the production team.
Elizabeth Saunders, who plays Donna, likewise spoke about the series’ direction rather than an announced renewal. In a Radio Times interview quoted by MEAWW, she characterized the storytelling as “the long game.” Her wording does not establish that the creators had committed to a fixed season count.
What did Saunders mean by “the long game”?
Saunders described a story conceived to unfold over time, while explicitly distancing that idea from a ten-season plan. She said: “All I know, and this is a very general all I know, is that it was always conceived as having… It’s the long game. I don’t think there was an intention of like, 10 seasons.” She added that she did not know whether the creators had chosen an ending point and hoped the show would get “at least a couple more seasons.”

Those comments are best read as Saunders’s understanding and hope at the time—not as a statement of the writers’ final plans or a guarantee that additional seasons would be made.
What is FROM’s status now?
The earlier uncertainty has been superseded by official updates. Paramount Global Content’s FROM title page lists four seasons and 40 episodes, gives April 19, 2026, as the Season 4 premiere, and identifies the series as renewed for Season 5. The page describes the MGM+ drama as a story about a nightmarish town that traps people who enter.

- Dark Winds: Season 3 [Blu-Ray]
That current status should be kept separate from the actors’ earlier remarks: Perrineau was guessing before confirmation, Saunders was discussing the show’s long-range storytelling, and the later Season 5 renewal is an official series update.
When were the comments and updates reported?
- November 8, 2024: An IMDb News listing dated the syndicated headline about the stars’ renewal comments to this day, as Season 3 approached its finale. The listing provides headline and date context, not the full interview.
- November 22, 2025: MEAWW reported that Season 4 production had wrapped, citing an MGM+ social post dated November 21, 2025. Its statement at the time that no premiere date had been confirmed has since been superseded.
- April 19, 2026: Paramount Global Content lists this as the Season 4 premiere date and currently marks the series renewed for Season 5.
What the “long game” does—and does not—tell viewers
The phrase signals an intended longer-form story, but it is not a season-count announcement. Saunders said she did not think ten seasons were intended; she did not specify how many seasons the creators planned, and her hope for a couple more was not a promise. The present-day fact readers can rely on is the official listing: four seasons are listed, with Season 5 renewal confirmed.
