Ariana Madix’s guest appearance on Will Trent ends with a kiss between her character and Detective Michael Ormewood—but it leaves their possible romance open rather than confirmed. Madix said she would be open to returning; that is her interest, not an announcement that she will appear again.
Who does Ariana Madix play in Will Trent?
Madix appears as a heightened fictional version of herself in “Abigail B.,” Season 3, Episode 8, which aired February 25, 2025. “I play a very heightened version of myself,” she told ABC7’s On The Red Carpet. In the episode, her character hires Detective Michael Ormewood, played by Jake McLaughlin, for private security while arranging an intervention for a friend. ABC7’s interview and episode setup explain the premise.
How do Madix and Ormewood grow closer?
Ormewood’s moonlighting job brings him into her character’s social orbit. Their scenes move between comic exchanges, conversation about relationship history, and line dancing. After he rescues her friend, the tension turns romantic and the two kiss. Parade describes Ormewood’s bodyguard work as a comic side plot, while the episode itself supplies the on-screen flirtation. TV Insider’s episode account details the line-dancing scene and kiss.
Why was the kiss filmed first?
The kiss appears near the end of the episode, but it was the first scene Madix filmed on her first day on set. She recalled, “Our last scene of the episode, that was our first scene that we shot, so we had to go zero to 100 right away.” She said she was nervous, and felt that the abrupt move into intimacy could make the moment’s emotion read as romantic tension. Madix explained the filming order and her reaction in her TV Insider/Swooon interview.

What is the The Bodyguard reference?
The carry scene nods to the 1992 film The Bodyguard, in which Kevin Costner’s character carries Whitney Houston’s. Madix said the production looked at the movie’s VHS cover to capture that image. She called the reference a “cool nod” and said the kiss changes the mood after the characters have danced, laughed, and fought. The homage is a visual joke within the episode, not evidence that the scene promises a longer romance. Her interview discusses how the shot was conceived.

Madix described the ending as an ellipsis rather than a period: “They know where to find me.” She said she would be open to returning, but her comment does not confirm a future appearance or establish that the characters are now in an ongoing relationship. The episode gives viewers a flirtation and a kiss; what happens next remains unresolved in the reporting available here.
