He answered, “I got no comment on that,” then teased, “All will be revealed in due time.” Nine days later, Chalamet appeared on an EsDeeKid remix, establishing that they are two different people.
What Chalamet said about the rumor
While in the UK promoting Marty Supreme, Chalamet was asked on Heart Breakfast whether he was EsDeeKid. He paused, said, “I got no comment on that,” and followed with, “All will be revealed in due time.” When the hosts pointed to a perceived similarity in their eyes, he remained coy. The exchange is available in Heart’s December 11 interview; Billboard Canada also reported his remarks.

Chalamet also joked about rapping as a teenager under the name Lil Timmy Tin. As The Independent recounted, he said, “Let me tell you, Lil Timmy does not have the same ring to it,” then added, “Lil Timmy sounds like something else.” That joke was not an admission that he was EsDeeKid.
Why people suspected a connection
The theory spread through online comparisons of the artists’ appearance, particularly their eyes. Chalamet’s attendance at a London show featuring Fakemink—associated with EsDeeKid’s “LV Sandals”—also fed speculation. Meanwhile, EsDeeKid performed in a balaclava, keeping his face and identity private. These details help explain why fans speculated; none proved that the two were the same person. The Independent described the speculation and the masked performances.

The “4 Raws” remix settled whether they are the same person
On December 20, 2025, Chalamet released a collaboration with EsDeeKid: a remix of “4 Raws” featuring a Chalamet verse. The joint release showed that they are separate people and put the identity theory to rest. The Independent reported the remix and its significance.
The collaboration settled the question about Chalamet, but it did not reveal EsDeeKid’s legal identity. The reporting on the remix still described the rapper’s real name and age as unknown.

What the chart figures do—and do not—show
Billboard’s December 2025 coverage noted that EsDeeKid’s Rebel debuted at No. 131 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 24 on the Canadian Albums chart. Those positions provide chart context, not evidence that the rumor alone caused the album’s performance. Billboard Canada reported the figures.
