The headline’s quoted line, “We’ll Stay in That Darkness,” also cannot be verified in the accessible source material. Here is what has been reported—and how a possible Dark Wolf follow-up differs from the already-reported second season of The Terminal List.
Is The Terminal List: Dark Wolf getting a Season 2?
As of the reports dated August 2025, a second season of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf had not been formally confirmed. The reports describe interest and plans to continue the story, not an official renewal announcement. In an August 14 interview, ComicBook.com reported that creator and writer Jack Carr saw more ground to cover with Ben Edwards. The Associated Press reported on August 29 that there were plans for more Dark Wolf, but did not identify a formal renewal.
That distinction matters: talk of a possible continuation is not the same as a commissioned season, a production start, or a release date. The cited reports do not establish any of those details for a second season of the prequel.
What did Taylor Kitsch say about Season 2?
The exact line in the headline—“We’ll Stay in That Darkness”—does not appear in the accessible text of the cited interviews, so it cannot be confirmed or attributed here. An August 29, 2025 Collider interview video is described as featuring Kitsch and Chris Pratt discussing a potential Season 2, but its description does not reproduce that quotation. Without the originating segment or a transcript confirming the words and context, the line should not be treated as a verified Kitsch quote.

Kitsch did discuss his approach to playing Ben Edwards in interviews. Speaking to the AP, he said, “I take the utmost pride to be authentic and rooted in Ben, but there’s a dark side to service.” In an interview with TV Insider, he described his approach more generally: “I learned pretty early in my career to not judge. So I just try and go for authenticity.” Those comments speak to his portrayal; they are not confirmation of a Season 2 order or a promise about its story.
Which Season 2 is already underway?
There are two different continuation stories in the August 2025 coverage. The AP reported that production was underway on a second season of the original The Terminal List, starring Chris Pratt, and separately reported plans for more Dark Wolf. The production report concerned the original series—not a confirmed second season of the Ben Edwards prequel. Pratt told the AP, “Hopefully we can keep swinging.”

|---|---|---|---|
| The Terminal List: Dark Wolf | More story was discussed or planned in August 2025; the cited reports do not confirm a formal renewal. | Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch | A prequel exploring Edwards’ path and backstory. |
| The Terminal List | The AP reported in August 2025 that production was underway on a second season. | James Reece, played by Chris Pratt | The original series, centered on Reece. |
Why Ben Edwards’ backstory connects to the original series
Dark Wolf is a prequel centered on Edwards, whose choices are part of the history behind the original series. The AP places the prequel’s story about five years before The Terminal List: Edwards is a Navy SEAL deployed to Iraq and assigned to train local soldiers, where he begins questioning decisions made by people above him. TV Insider describes the series as tracing his movement toward darkness and examining how he could later betray James Reece.
Carr told TV Insider that Kitsch’s performance brought depth and nuance to Edwards and helped motivate exploration of the character’s past. Carr also described the appeal of understanding what could lead someone to make the choices Edwards makes in the first season of The Terminal List. As he put it, Kitsch’s work prompted “maybe a natural deconstruction of this military archetype that we’re maybe more familiar with.”
