No official Marvel source reviewed confirms that Scarlet Witch or Elizabeth Olsen will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. September 2026 coverage relays online-scooper claims about reshoots and a possible post-credits scene, but does not independently verify them. A separate rumor points to a possible major role in Avengers: Secret Wars. Both remain unconfirmed.
What is the alleged Doomsday leak?
A September 2, 2026, CinemaBlend report describes two claims attributed to online scoopers: Daniel Richtman said Scarlet Witch and Sue Storm were among characters filmed during reshoots, while MyTimeToShineHello claimed Elizabeth Olsen’s stunt double took part in additional filming for a post-credits sequence.
Those are not equivalent to confirmed casting or verified production details. The report does not provide a primary production document or Marvel confirmation, and the stunt-double claim does not itself establish that Olsen filmed a scene or that the finished film will include Wanda.
What is being said about Secret Wars?
An August 2026 The Cosmic Circus Q&A reports a scooper-circle rumor that Scarlet Witch could have an important role in Avengers: Secret Wars, with her power contributing to how Doctor Doom’s Battleworld is made. This is a separate claim about a separate film, and it is also rumor rather than studio-confirmed story or casting information.

What has Elizabeth Olsen said?
At Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo, Olsen was reported by Hindustan Times on July 22, 2026 as saying she knew nothing about Doomsday or Secret Wars. In the outlet’s transcription, she said: “I know nothing. I know about Vision Quest, because I’ve seen Paul [Bettany] in the last six months. I know nothing about any of it.”
That is a reported public comment, not an official casting announcement. It weighs against treating her participation as established, but it cannot prove that a surprise appearance is impossible.

Did Wanda die in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?
The film ends with the destruction of Mount Wundagore and the Darkhold, strongly suggesting Wanda’s sacrifice. But the cited reporting says Marvel did not explicitly confirm her death. That leaves her fate unresolved; the ambiguity is not evidence that she survived, just as the apparent sacrifice is not an official confirmation that she is dead.
Marvel’s Scarlet Witch character page identifies Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch and connects the character to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It provides character context, not news about current casting.

Does VisionQuest tease Wanda’s return?
No. VisionQuest showrunner Terry Matalas said, “I want to make sure that people don’t think I’m teasing Wanda, because I’m not teasing Wanda,” according to GamesRadar+. That statement rules out reading the series as an intentional Wanda tease; it does not settle what Marvel may do in a different project.

- Doomsday: reshoot and post-credits claims have been reported as scooper rumors, not confirmed appearances.
- Secret Wars: the proposed role and Battleworld connection are likewise unconfirmed.
- Olsen’s involvement: her reported comments say she knew nothing about the two Avengers films at the time; they do not make a secret cameo impossible.
- Wanda’s fate: the Wundagore ending leaves room for uncertainty, but does not establish that she is alive or returning.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige’s 2022 remarks, reported by ComicBook.com, said there was more to explore with Wanda and that anything was possible in the multiverse. Those historical comments explain why speculation persists; they are not evidence of a current project or casting decision.
