Is Pacific Rim 3 actually happening?
As of October 8, 2026, the official Legendary materials reviewed establish two released theatrical films: Pacific Rim (2013) and Pacific Rim Uprising (2018). They do not establish that a third film has been announced or is in production. An absence of public confirmation is not proof that no private development exists.

Legendary’s Pacific Rim film page lists the original film’s release as July 12, 2013. Its Pacific Rim Uprising page lists the sequel’s release as March 23, 2018. Both pages provide official trailers for those released films.
Are the Pacific Rim 3 trailers real?
A video title or thumbnail calling itself a “Pacific Rim 3 trailer” is not evidence that Legendary or a distributor made or endorsed it. The official trailers available on Legendary’s pages are for the 2013 film and Uprising. Treat a third-film trailer as official only if Legendary or the relevant distributor publishes or links to it.

There is another source of confusion: a motion trailer or promotional clip for a comic can look like franchise movie marketing, but it does not confirm a film. Final Breach is described by its publisher as a graphic novel project; its promotional material is not a Pacific Rim 3 movie trailer.
What is Pacific Rim: Final Breach?
Pacific Rim: Final Breach is an official graphic-novel continuation announced by Legendary Comics as a three-volume sequel to Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim Uprising. The publisher’s product page lists Volume One as a paperback, ISBN 9781681161426, and links to retailers including Amazon. Check the live retailer listing for current territory, format, and availability.

The publisher’s story description brings back Jake Pentecost, Hermann Gottlieb, and Raleigh Becket, and introduces the Jaeger Gipsy Destroyer. It frames the conflict around renewed Kaiju assaults, an attempt to reach the Anteverse, and a plan to confront the Precursors. Those are developments in the comic’s story; they do not establish that the same events are planned for a film.
The completed Legendary Comics Kickstarter also calls the project the official three-volume graphic-novel sequel and says “Order Volume 1 Today!” The campaign ran from August 5 to September 4, 2024, with 1,564 backers and $200,202 pledged. Those figures describe that crowdfunding campaign only; they are not a measure of theatrical demand or evidence of a movie’s prospects. A September 2026 production update shows continuing project information for the comic, not a film announcement.

How does the TV-series news fit in?
Legendary’s television index links to Variety’s August 19, 2024 report about a Pacific Rim prequel series in development under a first-look deal with Eric Heisserer. That is a separate television development item. The cited information does not announce a third film or establish a release date for the series.

If you want the continuation described in the current publisher materials, look for “Pacific Rim Final Breach Volume One graphic novel” and verify the format and availability on the retailer’s live page. The Ultimate Omnibus is an adjacent option for earlier comics, not a substitute for Volume One.
