No Game No Life Season 2 has not been confirmed in the sources reviewed through October 8, 2026. Creator Yuu Kamiya has said he does not know why there has not been a sequel and has publicly asked for one—but his comments are not a production announcement. The available reporting does not establish an official explanation from the production committee or studio.
Is No Game No Life Season 2 confirmed?
No. The reporting cited here contains no confirmed second-season announcement. Kamiya’s support for a continuation, including his public request for one, shows that he wants the series to return; it does not establish that a season is in development or scheduled.
The distinction matters because rumors and creator comments can circulate as if they were official news. In a January 31, 2025 report, Joyn translated a post by Kamiya responding to a specific rumor: “Good morning. When I woke up, an incredible number of DMs had come in, but they are all misinformation, and so I would ask that not everyone individually asks about it.” That statement rejected the rumor prompting the messages. It did not say a second season could never be made.
What has Yuu Kamiya said about the delay?
He says he does not know the reason
Anime2You’s April 2, 2023 report quoted Kamiya saying he could not say why a second season had not happened. In the same reported remarks, he said he did not think money was the problem and could not think of another explanation. This is Kamiya’s view, not a verified account of the production committee’s finances or decision-making.

His “too good” explanation was speculation
Kamiya floated the possibility that the first season had set such a high quality bar that no one wanted to risk making a follow-up that could not match it. The report presents this as his speculation, not as a confirmed reason from the studio or committee. There is no established production explanation in the reporting cited here.
He has asked for a second season
On the anime’s tenth anniversary in April 2024, Kamiya posted: “It’s the tenth anniversary of No Game No Life. Please make a second season.” ComicBook.com reported the post on April 14, 2024. It is a direct appeal for a continuation, not confirmation that one is being produced.

Does the anime’s ending make a sequel impossible?
No such conclusion is supported by the available reporting. Anime2You reported that the television anime adapted the first three light-novel volumes, while its post-credit ending drew on volume six. The same report said Kamiya indicated a continuation could return to the story’s chronology or change the plot. That describes possible adaptation approaches; it does not confirm a sequel or explain why one has not been made.
How can you continue the story now?
The light novels are the source material and continue beyond the volumes covered by the television adaptation, according to Anime2You’s 2023 report. Readers looking for story beyond the anime can pick up the novels, beginning with the next unadapted volume, while checking the edition and volume details for their preferred language and format. The evidence cited here does not establish current English-edition availability or marketplace stock.
