Charlize Theron appears in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga through a montage of footage from Mad Max: Fury Road in the end credits—not in a newly filmed scene in the main story. The montage links the prequel to the 2015 film, but the available reporting does not establish that Theron’s footage is a deleted scene rescued from Fury Road.
Where Charlize Theron appears in Furiosa
Theron played the older Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. In Furiosa, Anya Taylor-Joy plays Furiosa as an adult and Alyla Browne plays her as a child. Theron’s appearance comes in the film’s end-credits montage, which uses footage from Fury Road to show what follows Furiosa’s story in the prequel. It is a credits montage, not a conventional post-credits scene, and it is not a new Theron performance filmed for Furiosa. TheWrap reported on the montage; The Atlantic’s interview with George Miller also identifies the films’ relationship.

Why George Miller included the montage
Director George Miller said the team debated whether to include the montage “a lot.” He ultimately felt it fit because the end of one story flows directly into the other. The sequence is intended as a bridge and a preview, rather than a substitute for the full earlier film.
Miller described the credits footage as a “sample” and a “little mini trailer” for Fury Road. As he explained to TheWrap on May 27, 2024, viewers who have not seen Fury Road are seeing a taste of what happens, not the experience of watching that film.

Does the montage restore a deleted Fury Road scene?
The reported facts support calling it a montage of existing Fury Road footage. They do not confirm that the particular image of Theron in the montage was cut from the finished film, or that it restores a deleted narrative scene. So the claim that the credits “rescue” a deleted Theron scene goes further than the available evidence.
There is a separate, documented story about an unused Fury Road idea. Miller said a brief scene involving someone flying on a parasail-like device was storyboarded for that film but not used. The concept later fed into the aerial attackers in Furiosa. This is a different piece of development history, not proof that Theron’s credits footage is deleted material. Miller discussed the parasail idea in a May 23, 2024 Slashfilm interview.

What to watch after Furiosa
Furiosa is a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, so the credits montage points toward the later chapter in the character’s story. For the complete continuation rather than the brief sample, watch Fury Road itself. The montage offers a transition between the stories; it does not replace the film it previews.
