In an interview with Collider, the former WWE wrestler—whose real name is Adam Scherr—described a possible conversation with people he knows and his agency as conditional, not as a casting announcement.
What role does Braun Strowman want?
Strowman named Jason Voorhees, the masked slasher from the Friday the 13th franchise, as the horror character he would most like to play. F4W, reporting on his Collider interview, quoted him saying: “There may be some talks about it with people that I know and my agency. If we could ever get everybody back on the same page and allow the things to work, I might be the next Voorhees.” F4W’s report and GamesRadar’s coverage both describe an expression of interest, not a confirmed role.
Has Braun Strowman been cast as Jason?
No casting is confirmed in the cited reports. Scherr’s phrase “I might be the next Voorhees” was framed by conditions: possible talks, people needing to get “back on the same page,” and circumstances allowing it to work. It should not be read as evidence that he has received an offer, signed a deal, or been selected.
Is a new Friday the 13th movie moving forward?
The September 29, 2025 reports discussed a new film as being in development at that time; F4W characterized the development as very early. Those reports do not establish the project’s status today, nor do they confirm a production schedule, release date, rights arrangements, or casting. No later official update is established by the cited coverage.
