Adam Scherr, the former WWE wrestler known as Braun Strowman, says there may be discussions about him playing Jason Voorhees. His wording was conditional, and it does not confirm that he has been cast in a Friday the 13th project.
What Adam Scherr said about playing Jason
In an interview with Collider’s Perri Nemiroff at Fantastic Fest, Scherr was asked which horror franchise he would like to join. As reported by Moviz Ark on September 30, 2025, he answered, “Oh, Friday the 13th. Jason,” and said he would “gladly shave this beard off to play that character.”
Scherr then added: “There may be some talks about it with people that I know and my agency. If we could ever get everybody to get back on the same page and allow the things to work, I might be the next Voorhees.”
The phrases “may be” and “might be,” along with his reference to conditions that would need to be worked out, describe a possibility—not a completed casting decision. The published account relays remarks from the Collider interview; it does not establish that Scherr has signed on or been selected for a role.

Has Braun Strowman been cast as Jason Voorhees?
No confirmed casting is established by the available reporting. Scherr expressed interest and referred to possible discussions involving people he knows and his agency, but neither a formal announcement nor a finalized role is documented in the cited account. The official Jason Universe hub does not identify Scherr as Jason; that absence does not rule out private conversations.
Is Scherr attached to Crystal Lake or a new movie?
There is no reported connection between Scherr’s possible discussions and a specific project. The official Jason Universe hub lists Crystal Lake as a Friday the 13th prequel series for Peacock and carries separate updates about a movie and game in development. Those franchise developments do not show that Scherr is attached to any of them.
