No—not according to the last located reports. During the May 2025 rumors that Annabelle had gone missing while traveling to Chicago, the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) said the doll was at the Warren Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut. That is a dated report of NESPR’s account, not confirmation of where the doll is today: the latest whereabouts reports cited here are from May 2025.
What sparked the Annabelle missing rumor?
During Memorial Day weekend in May 2025, social media posts claimed that Annabelle had disappeared while traveling to Chicago. The rumor circulated as the doll was associated with the Devils on the Run Tour and making public appearances. A May 27 report said the tour had recently stopped in San Antonio, while The Independent noted an earlier New Orleans stop. Some visitors reportedly said they had not seen the doll, adding to speculation. Those reports describe 2025 activity; they do not show that Annabelle was lost or stolen, and they are not a current tour schedule.

The Stamford Advocate reported that one TikTok video by creator Christopher Kiely had 8.7 million views. That figure is the reported view count for the video, not a count of people who believed the rumor or evidence that the claim was true.
Where was Annabelle in the last reports?
In response to the May 2025 rumor, NESPR denied that the doll was missing or stolen. The Stamford Advocate reported that senior lead investigator Dan Rivera showed the doll in its case and said, “Annabelle’s not missing. She’s not in Chicago.” The Independent, reporting on May 25, 2025, also quoted Rivera denying that Annabelle was in Chicago and relayed an NESPR notice saying the doll was safely at the Warren Occult Museum.

#1 Best Overall
- 18" tall doll has soft body, molded vinyl head, hands and feet
- Doll wears an ivory satin gown with red waist sash and ribbon rosette
- Hair is styled in 2 long braids
These reports establish what NESPR and Rivera said at the time. They are not independent verification of the doll’s location, and they do not establish where it is on October 4, 2026. The Stamford Advocate reported in May 2025 that the Monroe museum was closed to the public; check for a newer official visitor notice before making plans.
Did the Annabelle doll escape?
No evidence in the cited reports supports the 2025 claim that the doll escaped. An earlier escape story circulated in 2020 after a false Wikipedia edit. In an August 17, 2020 fact-check, Lead Stories quoted Tony Spera denying the claim: “Annabelle did not escape… Annabelle’s here in all her infamous glory. She never left the museum.” That older denial addresses the 2020 rumor; it does not establish the doll’s location in 2025 or 2026.

What is the real Annabelle doll?
NESPR identifies the object as a Raggedy Ann doll given to a student nurse. In NESPR’s account, the nurse and her roommate reported strange occurrences, consulted a medium who attributed them to the spirit of a young girl, and later contacted Ed and Lorraine Warren. NESPR says the Warrens concluded the doll was demonically possessed, removed it, and placed it in a glass case. The possession story is the Warrens’ and NESPR’s claim; it is not independently verified fact.
The doll described by NESPR is not the porcelain-faced figure familiar from the films. The movie version is a fictionalized adaptation, and reporting connects the case to the Annabelle films and The Conjuring universe.

- The May 2025 rumor: It said Annabelle was missing while traveling to Chicago; NESPR and Rivera denied that she was missing or in Chicago.
- The reported location: NESPR said the doll was at the Warren Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut. The cited reports do not independently verify that account or establish a location after May 2025.
- The supernatural claim: Possession is part of NESPR’s account of the case, not a verified finding.
- The museum: The Stamford Advocate said it was closed to the public in May 2025; that report is not a current access notice.
