Spoilers for all six episodes of Marvel Television’s Ironheart. The finale reveals that the mysterious man Riri thought might be Dormammu is Mephisto, and it ends with Riri apparently accepting his offer to bring Natalie back. A mid-credits scene—not a post-credits scene—then shows Parker Robbins seeking magical knowledge from Zelma. None of those moments confirms what the MCU will do next.
What happens at the end of Ironheart?
After returning to Chicago following Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams has been trying to build advanced armor with limited resources. Her involvement with Parker Robbins, also known as the Hood, draws her into a conflict shaped by both technology and magic. Marvel’s official series page and D23’s series feature establish that premise.
In the finale, Riri confronts the mysterious man she believes may be Dormammu. He identifies himself instead as Mephisto, played by Sacha Baron Cohen. The reveal also clarifies the supernatural source behind Parker Robbins’ connection to the Hood. Dormammu is not the answer to Riri’s question; Mephisto is.
Why does Riri accept Mephisto’s offer?
The decision is bound up in Riri’s grief for Natalie. The finale presents Riri as accepting Mephisto’s offer to bring Natalie back, making the moment an apparent bargain and a cliffhanger rather than a fully explained deal.

The episode does not establish the terms, the limits of Natalie’s return, or what price Riri might pay. Actor comments frame the choice as a morally difficult crossroads, but do not resolve those unanswered questions. The distinction matters: the finale shows Riri’s apparent decision, not the consequences of a contract whose details have yet to be revealed.
Is there a post-credits scene?
There is a mid-credits scene, but no separate end-credits scene. Parker enters the Stanton family’s magic shop and speaks with Zelma. His visit suggests he wants access to magical knowledge or resources, but it does not confirm a particular opponent, project, or next chapter.

What does the scene mean for the MCU?
The scene leaves room for Parker and Zelma’s story to continue, while Riri’s bargain leaves her own future unresolved. The magical setting may prompt theories about Young Avengers, Strange Academy, Doctor Strange, or other MCU crossovers; those are speculation, not announced destinations for the story.
At the time of the finale coverage, Ironheart had not been renewed. Head writer Chinaka Hodge told TVLine: “Audiences will help make that decision, of what happens next” — if anything. TechRadar reported that producers were “leaving the door open” on Riri’s MCU future. Neither statement confirms a second season, film, or crossover that will answer the finale’s cliffhanger.

What the finale establishes—and what it leaves open
- Established: The mysterious man is Mephisto, not Dormammu, and Mephisto is the supernatural source connected to Parker Robbins’ power.
- Shown, but unresolved: Riri appears to accept an offer to bring Natalie back; the deal’s terms and consequences are not explained.
- Established: Parker visits Zelma in a mid-credits scene.
- Not confirmed: A second season or any specific MCU project that continues these storylines.
Ryan Coogler, an executive producer, described Riri’s circumstances to D23 on June 24, 2025: “Riri is always working with scraps. She’s always trying to make a way out of no way.” That resourcefulness explains the character’s drive; the finale’s last choice shows how grief can put that drive on a dangerous path.
