Is Angry Birds Star Wars 2 discontinued? It appears to be a delisted legacy game, so ordinary new downloads are likely unavailable. Can you still download Angry Birds Star Wars 2?
For most people looking for a new copy, the answer appears to be no through ordinary App Store or Google Play discovery. Rovio says some older Angry Birds games are no longer available for download. The official pages available do not explicitly identify Angry Birds Star Wars II, however, so its delisted status is a well-supported inference from Rovio’s broader policy—not a title-specific confirmation or a verified delisting date.
Rovio’s June 22, 2021 letter to fans explained that older games had been removed from app stores and that dated technology and evolving platform requirements made continued support difficult. The company said many would need substantial rebuilding to meet those requirements. That explains why older games may disappear, but Rovio did not state in that letter that this specific game was removed for a particular reason.
Can you reinstall it if you downloaded it before?
Possibly. Rovio’s support guidance for older Angry Birds games says a game previously downloaded may still be installable from the store cloud. It does not confirm that Angry Birds Star Wars II remains eligible, or that the process works in every country or on current operating systems.

- Sign in to the Apple or Google account you used to download the game originally.
- Open that store’s purchase or download history and look for Angry Birds Star Wars II.
- If it appears, try the store’s official reinstall option. If it does not appear or the store blocks installation, Rovio’s general guidance does not establish another official recovery method.
Finding an old installation or getting it to install does not establish that it will launch, that all game assets are available, or that any online features still work. The available official information does not verify current compatibility or service status for this title. Avoid treating unofficial downloads as an endorsed recovery route.
Why is it missing from the App Store or Google Play?
Rovio’s explanation for older games is that maintaining legacy titles became difficult as devices and marketplace requirements changed. In its 2021 letter, the company said some older games would need to be rebuilt nearly from scratch to remain compliant. These are general reasons for legacy-game removals, not a documented account of when or why Angry Birds Star Wars II disappeared.

The evidence does not establish that an expired Star Wars license caused the game’s absence. Nor does current Angry Birds licensing news announce a return: SEGA’s January 9, 2026 licensing announcement describes unified global licensing operations for the franchise, including consumer products, but says nothing about rereleasing this game.

Rovio and Lucasfilm announced the mobile sequel on July 15, 2013, with a planned worldwide app-store launch on September 19, 2013. It drew on the Star Wars prequel-film setting and let players join the “Pork Side” by playing as villainous pigs. The announced date is the planned launch date; it does not independently verify when every store listed the game.

TELEPODS figures and the game
The launch announcement also described Hasbro TELEPODS: physical figures that players could place near a phone or tablet camera and scan into the app to unlock characters and powers. Rovio and Lucasfilm said more than 30 figures were planned for launch. They are now best understood as legacy collectibles, not a way to install the game; present-day stock and compatibility with any available installation have not been established.
