Invincible has villains who threaten a city, a planet, or the people Mark loves most—and the strongest one is not automatically the most compelling. This ranking weighs each antagonist’s impact on Mark and the story, the scale and credibility of the threat, character distinctiveness, and how deeply the conflict tests or changes the hero. It is an editorial ranking, not an official Skybound or creator list.
The comic and the Prime Video animated adaptation do not cover identical ground. The entries below identify the continuity being discussed; where a character’s full comic arc extends beyond the show, the ranking reflects the comic rather than implying the adaptation has already reached the same events.

How this ranking works
Threat level matters, but it is only one measure. A villain can rank highly by forcing Mark into a personal or moral crisis, changing the direction of the story, or bringing an unusually distinctive perspective to the conflict. The list therefore considers narrative consequence, personal stakes, credible danger, originality, thematic role, and characterization together.
Continuity labels matter: the comic is complete, while the animated series is an adaptation still telling its version of the story. The series was co-created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker before being adapted for Prime Video (Skybound’s Invincible page; Prime Video’s series page).

Can a reliable top 15 be ranked from the available evidence?
No. Official franchise material identifies several antagonists, including Omni-Man and Angstrom Levy, and Amazon’s Season Four coverage names Thragg, Dinosaurus, and Universa. Those sources do not establish a complete fifteen-character roster or an official order (Prime Video series page; Amazon’s Season Four coverage).
Rather than invent ten additional entries or claim an unsupported definitive ranking, this list ranks the five antagonists the cited official material supports. The comic’s wider cast may offer other strong candidates, but assigning them places without confirming their arcs and continuity would make the ranking less reliable.
Rank #2
The five supported contenders
| Rank | Villain | Continuity supported here | Why the character belongs in the conversation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Omni-Man | Comic and animated-series franchise context | The betrayal at the center of Mark’s relationship with his father makes the conflict intensely personal as well as large in scale. |
| 2 | Angstrom Levy | Comic and animated-series franchise context | His official identification as a series antagonist makes him a central contender; the character’s conflict is closely tied to Mark. |
| 3 | Thragg | Comic; also named in Amazon’s Season Four coverage | His place among the officially named antagonists makes him a major threat contender, though the show’s current coverage should not be treated as the comic’s complete story. |
| 4 | Dinosaurus | Comic; also named in Amazon’s Season Four coverage | The character is an officially identified antagonist and represents a distinct kind of conflict from a straightforward contest of strength. |
| 5 | Universa | Comic; also named in Amazon’s Season Four coverage | Her inclusion among the show’s named villains makes her a supported contender, but the official material cited here does not establish a complete arc or comparative ranking. |
Why power alone does not settle the ranking
Omni-Man leads this editorial shortlist because a conflict with a parent can reshape a hero’s identity and relationships in a way that raw strength cannot. Angstrom Levy follows as a personal antagonist. Thragg is a formidable threat candidate, but the available official references do not support a detailed comparison of his full comic arc with the others. Dinosaurus and Universa round out the list of verified names, not a claim that they are definitively the fifth- and fourth-best villains in the franchise.
That distinction is especially important for long-running characters. A character may function as a villain during one part of a story and develop beyond that role later; treating an entire arc as a single, unchanging label can flatten the very characterization that makes the conflict interesting.

The comic and animated series are different reading and viewing contexts
Skybound describes the comic as a 15-year run comprising 146 issues and reports that it sold more than 6 million copies. These are publisher-reported historical figures, not independently audited totals (Skybound’s comic overview). The completed comic provides the full narrative context for judging characters whose stories extend beyond what the adaptation has shown.
For viewers, Prime Video’s animated series is the direct screen adaptation, but a season announcement naming a villain does not establish that the show has adapted that character’s complete comic storyline. A screen-continuity ranking would need to be limited to events actually depicted in released episodes.

Where to continue
Readers who want the complete story can start with the original Invincible comic or look for an Invincible comic compendium or other collected edition. The exact edition and availability vary, so check the current listing rather than relying on an assumed format. Viewers can watch the animated series on Prime Video, subject to regional availability.
