When did Invincible VS come out?
Invincible VS launched April 30, 2026, according to Xbox Wire’s launch-day article. The game had first been revealed in June 2025 with a planned 2026 release window, as reported in the original announcement carried by Euronext. The old “Launching 2026” description is therefore historical, not a current release forecast.

What kind of game is it?
It is a 3v3 tag fighter based on the Invincible comic and animated series. Players build teams and switch among their fighters during matches. Xbox Wire reported 18 characters at launch, including Mark Grayson/Invincible, Omni-Man, Atom Eve, Rex Splode and Ella Mental, an original character. That count describes the launch roster, not the current total after downloadable content.
Which platforms can you play it on?
The 2025 announcement named Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Xbox’s later launch and June update coverage also identifies Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud. The US PlayStation Store listing confirms a PS5 version and gives April 30, 2026 as its release date. Storefront availability and listings can vary by region; check the platform’s store for the version available to you. These sources do not establish performance or feature parity across platforms.

What modes are included?
Xbox Wire listed four modes at launch:
- Training: Learn character movesets and practice.
- Arcade: Play character-specific routes with lore.
- Versus: Fight other players.
- Story: Experience an original narrative set in the series’ world.
The US PlayStation Store listing also describes Practice Mode, basic controller remapping and the ability to pause during offline play. Those details are specific to that listing; they do not establish that every platform has identical options.
How does Story Mode fit into the Invincible series?
The original game story is described as a playable bonus episode set between later episodes of the animated series’ Season 3. Xbox Wire says it contains more than 25 minutes of original cinematics and features returning series voice actors, including J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man, Gillian Jacobs as Atom Eve, Jason Mantzoukas as Rex Splode and Michael Dorn as Battle Beast. The placement is within the animated series’ continuity; the description does not make the story a substitute for watching the series or reading the comic.

What post-launch content was announced?
In an update dated June 23, 2026, Xbox Wire announced Universa and The Immortal as the first downloadable fighters, planned for June 30 alongside Season 1. The same update described a 2026 roadmap with Season 2 planned for October and Season 3 for December. Those are announced plans, not confirmation that the later seasons shipped. Xbox Wire quoted executive producer Mike Willette saying, “Launch is really just the beginning.” The remark signals intended ongoing support; it is not evidence that every roadmap milestone has arrived.
The US PlayStation Store lists downloadable character and cosmetic add-ons. Catalog contents and prices may change, so consult the store for current regional availability.

Do you need to know the comics or show first?
The game draws on both the comic and animated series, and its Story Mode uses characters and continuity from the show. Familiarity may help with the cast and setting, but the available launch information does not say prior reading or viewing is required. If you want more franchise context, the comic is a relevant companion rather than a prerequisite for playing.
