The latest legal report located, published by FITSNews in September 2026, concerns whether records from the latest custody case should remain sealed. It is a public-access dispute, not an appeal asking the court to decide who has custody. The report said oral arguments were scheduled for September 15, 2026, and did not establish a post-argument ruling.

According to FITSNews’ account of the arguments, Ravenel said, “I just want the truth to be out there for my own reputational purposes.” The outlet also quoted the family-court judge’s concern that the children could be “damaged by exposure of the private lives of the parties.” Those statements are reported from the appellate proceedings; they are not a public review of the full sealed case file.
A May 2026 entertainment report said Dennis appeared to spend Mother’s Day with the children. That social-media-based account does not establish the terms of a visit or show that a court changed its custody order.

What happened with Dennis’s DUI case?
TV Insider reported that Dennis was arrested and charged with DUI after a three-vehicle collision in Goose Creek, South Carolina, on May 20, 2024. The outlet’s account described allegations and police observations at the time of arrest; an arrest is not itself a finding of guilt.
A later Us Weekly retrospective reported that Dennis received a 30-day jail sentence in October 2025 and served 11 days. The arrest and the later reported sentence are separate developments and should not be conflated.

Why their story continued after the show’s romance storyline
Dennis and Ravenel’s on-and-off relationship supplied a recurring story for Southern Charm; later, the more consequential public story became how they navigated parenting and custody after the breakup. Dennis appeared on the series for eight seasons, according to Us Weekly’s 2025 retrospective, but television coverage cannot fill gaps in a partly sealed legal record.
