The clearest support for that description is a dated milestone: Entrepreneur reported in October 2023 that the sock company had reached $1 billion in lifetime revenue, calling it the franchise’s “most successful” brand. That is a publication’s characterization, not a current, audited ranking of every company that has appeared on the show.
The idea that started Bombas
Bombas began with a practical question: could a business make a useful product and address a basic need at the same time? Co-founders Randy Goldberg and David Heath focused on socks and built a donation mission into the company: for each pair sold, Bombas would donate a pair.
In an interview with ABC News published August 2, 2017, Heath recalled seeing that socks were “the No. 1 most requested clothing item in homeless shelters.” That is his account of what caught his attention, not a statistic independently established by the interview. He described the business rationale this way: “We thought that there might be a real opportunity to help solve this problem, at real scale, through business.”
What happened after the Shark Tank appearance
Bombas appeared on Shark Tank in 2014. Heath told ABC News that the company had about $800,000 in sales in its first year, then more than $1.2 million in the two months after its appearance. These are founder-reported historical figures, not a current measure of annual sales.

The appearance gave the company access to a national audience, but the available figures do not isolate how much of the subsequent growth came from the show, an investment, or other business activity. They do show the scale of the immediate sales response Heath reported.
How the founders explain Bombas’s growth
In Entrepreneur’s October 30, 2023 profile, Goldberg and Heath and investor Daymond John discussed the company’s emphasis on product quality and direct-to-consumer storytelling. These are their explanations of Bombas’s approach, rather than independently proven causes of its growth.

Product quality before mission messaging
John argued that a social mission cannot compensate for a product that falls short: “If you’re building a for-profit business that’s mission-oriented, [the product] has to be best-in-class.” The point is central to the Bombas story: customers buy socks, while the donation promise gives the purchase an additional purpose.
A direct relationship with customers
The founders also described direct-to-consumer storytelling as important to communicating the company’s product and mission. That approach let Bombas explain why it began with socks and how purchases related to donations without relying on the mission alone to define the business.

The billion-dollar milestone—and what “biggest” means
Entrepreneur reported in October 2023 that Bombas had reached $1 billion in lifetime revenue and donated more than 100 million essential apparel items. The publication described Bombas as the franchise’s “most successful of all time.” Those figures make it a standout success story, but they do not establish that Bombas ranks first today by every possible measure.
“Biggest” can mean different things: lifetime revenue, revenue in a particular year, profit, company valuation, or the return realized by a Shark. Those measures are not interchangeable. The sources cited here do not provide a current, comparable ranking of all companies that appeared on the show by any of them.

For context, ABC / Disney Television Press stated in its 2025–2026 season press sheet that deals offered in the Tank had generated more than $11 billion in aggregate retail sales. That is a show-wide total; it neither identifies Bombas’s share nor ranks individual companies.
