How successful was it?
Disney reported that Inside Out 2 reached $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue in 19 days. In its June 30, 2024 announcement, the company called it the fastest animated film to reach that milestone at the time. Disney’s June 30 announcement reported the milestone.
On July 24, 2024, Disney announced a worldwide total of $1.46 billion and said the film had surpassed Frozen II to become the highest-grossing animated film globally at that time. This is a dated, studio-reported figure and ranking, not a current all-time comparison. Disney’s July 24 announcement gives that total and ranking.
Rank #3
Disney also reported 30.5 million global Disney+ views in the first five days after the streaming debut. The company defined a view as total stream time divided by the film’s runtime, so the figure represents a platform viewing metric rather than a count of unique viewers. Disney’s announcement states the figure and its definition.
