Jennifer Aniston’s best-documented relationships include marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux. Reporting places her relationship with Pitt in 1998, before their 2000 wedding and 2005 divorce; she was publicly linked to Theroux in 2011, married him in 2015, and announced their separation in 2018. Other names in her dating history are supported by varying levels of reporting, so rumors should not be mistaken for confirmed relationships.
Brad Pitt: relationship began before their 2000 marriage
Aniston and Pitt began dating in 1998, according to Us Weekly’s timeline. They married in 2000, making theirs a five-year marriage, although their relationship started earlier.
In January 2005, the couple announced their separation. Their joint statement said, “This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration,” and described them as “committed and caring friends.” The statement, reproduced by ABC News, also rejected tabloid speculation as the cause. It establishes what they chose to say publicly, not every private reason for the breakup. Their divorce was finalized in October 2005.
ABC News also reported Aniston’s objection to coverage suggesting she had chosen her career over having children. She said, “A man divorcing would never be accused of choosing career over children.” That comment challenges the gendered speculation; it does not establish children or career as the reason for the separation.

Other relationships and reported links
After her split from Pitt, Aniston was linked in entertainment coverage to several people. A March 2025 Life & Style retrospective lists Vince Vaughn, Paul Sculfor, John Mayer and Bradley Cooper among the names associated with her. These entries are reported links in an entertainment outlet’s retrospective, not all confirmed relationships or personal disclosures from Aniston.
The same timeline describes a connection with Gerard Butler as a rumor that was never confirmed. That distinction matters: a name appearing in a celebrity dating timeline does not by itself show that a relationship occurred.

Justin Theroux: dating reports in 2011, marriage in 2015
Dating reports about Aniston and actor Justin Theroux began in 2011. They became engaged in 2012, married in 2015, and announced their separation in 2018, according to ABC News. Life & Style’s retrospective says they first met while filming Tropic Thunder in 2007 and reconnected while working on Wanderlust; the relationship milestones are more firmly useful to the public timeline than that first-meeting anecdote.
In a 2018 interview with Elle, as reproduced by ABC News, Aniston said, “My marriages, they’ve been very successful, in [my] personal opinion.” She also described the relationships as having reached a point where happiness no longer existed within those arrangements. That was her perspective on her marriages, rather than an objective measure of either relationship.

Jim Curtis and the latest dated reporting
In July 2025, Us Weekly reported that multiple sources said Aniston was dating Jim Curtis. Good Morning America later described her as making the relationship Instagram official. Those reports describe the situation in 2025; they do not establish her relationship status on October 8, 2026.
