Which Indiana Jones fedora sold?
The lot was identified as a fedora from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), not the hat from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Why was the hat matched to the film?
The lot was described as screen-and-photo-matched to film shots, production stills, and behind-the-scenes footage. Gizmodo quoted Propstore’s description as saying it “matches film shots, production stills, and behind-the-scenes footage of Ford in the village set on location in Sri Lanka, in the mine cart chase shot at Elstree Studios, and in the river sequence shot in the U.S.” The description also says stunt performer Dean Ferrandini wore it, so it should not be described as a hat worn only by Ford.

The lot reportedly included unpublished costume photos of Ferrandini and a letter of authenticity signed by his wife. These details describe the auctioned item; they do not establish the specifications of a replica or currently available Indiana Jones-style hat.
