Ibai Llanos’s La Velada del Año III reached 3,442,725 concurrent viewers on Twitch on 1 July 2023, setting a record at the time. That mark is historical: Guinness World Records lists 3,846,256 concurrent viewers for Ibai’s 2024 event, La Velada del Año 4.
What was Ibai’s 3.4 million-viewer record?
The widely reported “3.4 million” figure is an exact peak of 3,442,725 concurrent viewers—not a count of unique people who watched over the whole event. Guinness World Records attributes it to Ibai Llanos’s Twitch stream of La Velada del Año III, held on 1 July 2023 at Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium. Guinness World Records’ entry identifies the event and its peak.
La Velada del Año is an amateur boxing event featuring streamers, content creators, and celebrities. It is a creator-led show, rather than a conventional professional boxing championship.
How the event’s Twitch peaks changed
Guinness World Records’ figures show the peak concurrent audience rising across the 2022, 2023, and 2024 editions:

- EFFECTIVE IMPACT DISPERSION – Are your training gloves affecting your accuracy? The RDX gloves dissipate the force of impact across the specially made, pre-curved anatomical structure of the sparring gloves due to the presence of Quadro Dome 3 padding, which uses EVA foam and SpongeX sheet. This results in a comfortable training experience for the users of the RDX heavy boxing gloves.
- PATENT PENDING LOMA TECH DESIGN – Do you face trouble forming the perfect fist, while using boxing gloves ? RDX gloves feature a PATENT PENDING single seamless LOMA Tech design used in the palm area and thumb of the boxing gloves. This helps create an improved alignment between the fist and thumb and along with an especially designed attached thumb allows the trainees to form the perfect fist and punch better with the training gloves.
- EXCEPTIONALLY DURABLE MATERIAL – No matter how hard you punch these gloves make sure to outlast your intense training. The use of advanced caliber Maya Hide ConvEX Skin Leather in the KARA Series training gloves makes them durable and reliable for long-term use while also providing a superior look and feel during Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, Kickboxing, and heavy bag training sessions among other similar sports.
- FULL WRAPAROUND WRIST SUPPORT – A hassle-free design with sufficient support for your wrists. The hook and loop Fastener straps provide a secure fit and make it easy to put on or take off the kickboxing gloves for men and women along with providing better wrist support due to the full wraparound wrist strap, while the dual stitching in the heavy bag gloves makes them durable and resilient for extensive training sessions.
- SWEAT-FREE EXPERIENCE – Bid farewell to those sweaty palms and hands. With multiple ventilation holes strategically placed in the thumb sections of the lightweight boxing gloves, RDX ensures proper airflow management so that its customers get a sweat-free experience. Furthermore, the advanced perforated sheet for breathable ventilation in the palm area is sweat-wicking and minimizes sweat accumulation.
| Event | Date | Peak concurrent viewers |
|---|---|---|
| La Velada del Año II | 25 June 2022 | 3,356,464 |
| La Velada del Año III | 1 July 2023 | 3,442,725 |
| La Velada del Año 4 | 13 July 2024 | 3,846,256 |
The 2023 peak surpassed the previous event mark from 2022. The 2024 peak then surpassed the 2023 figure; Guinness World Records lists 3,846,256 for La Velada del Año 4. That makes the 3.4 million figure a notable former record, not the latest record listed by Guinness. The available record entries do not establish whether a later event has surpassed the 2024 mark.
Peak viewers are not total viewers
Concurrent viewers counts how many people are watching at the same moment. A peak is the stream’s highest such count. It does not say how many distinct people tuned in at some point during the event, and it is not interchangeable with average viewers, hours watched, physical attendance, or social-media activity.

La Velada del Año III was significant not only because it drew more concurrent viewers than the previous edition, but also because it demonstrated the scale a creator-led live event could reach on Twitch. The figures should still be read precisely: 3,442,725 was the 2023 stream’s peak concurrent audience, while the event’s total reach and viewing time are different measures.
