What changed in Hulu’s October 2025 prices?
The reported changes applied to affected U.S. plans starting with billing cycles on or after October 21, 2025. They did not mean every subscriber received the same increase: plan, bundle, promotion, billing provider, and renewal date all matter. The table reflects prices reported for that change, not a guarantee of what a particular account was charged.

Hulu’s public pages list Hulu with ads at $11.99/month, Hulu Premium at $18.99/month, and displayed Disney+/Hulu bundles beginning at $12.99/month. These prices were shown in pages crawled in 2026; Hulu says prices, features, and availability can change. Confirm the amount in your account or at Hulu’s plan page before switching.
How to check the price and renewal date on your account
- Go to hulu.com/account and sign in.
- Review the plan, current charge, next billing date, discount or promotion, and any upcoming price notice.
- Look for Plan, Billing, Manage Plan, Change Plan, or Cancel controls. Labels can change, so use the account page rather than relying on a particular button name.
- If you need to make a change, save the confirmation screen or email and check that it identifies the plan and effective date.
Your account notice and account page are more useful than a general headline: they show how the change applies to your subscription. If the account indicates Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, a carrier, or another partner as the billing provider, manage the subscription through that provider.

Ways to reduce or avoid a higher bill
Cancel if you no longer use Hulu
Canceling is the clearest way to stop future renewals, but it ends continued access after the paid term. Hulu’s agreement says it may change prices, will attempt to give advance notice, and can charge the new price at renewal if you do not cancel. Cancellation generally must be completed before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the day before the subscription term ends to avoid the next term’s charge. Switch to a lower-cost tier
If you mainly want Hulu’s on-demand catalog and can accept ads, compare the ad-supported plan with Premium. Premium removes ads from most content and offers downloads for supported titles, but some programs can still have limited ad interruptions because of rights restrictions. Compare a bundle against what you already pay
A Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN bundle can make sense if you already use the included services. Compare the bundle’s total charge with the subscriptions you would otherwise keep—not just the apparent discount assigned to Hulu. If you would not use Disney+ or ESPN, paying for the bundle can cost more than keeping Hulu alone. Hulu says bundle discounts and included features vary by plan and eligibility. Check annual billing or a promotion before committing
Hulu has offered annual billing for eligible ad-supported subscribers. Paying upfront may lower the effective monthly cost and defer exposure to monthly repricing until renewal, but it requires a larger payment and does not lock in a price indefinitely. An older Hulu announcement described an annual offer as 12 months for the price of 10; do not assume that historical deal or its terms are currently available. For any promotion, record its end date and the regular price afterward. Check whether existing subscribers qualify and whether switching plans or canceling ends the discount or forfeits credits. How cancellation works—and what can go wrong
For a direct-billed account, start at hulu.com/account and follow the cancellation control through to confirmation. Hulu generally keeps service active through the current paid term; partial periods are generally not refunded. Deleting the app or removing a payment method does not itself cancel the subscription. - Cancellation option missing: Check which company bills you in the Hulu account, then cancel through that provider.
- Promotion or discount shown: Confirm its expiration and the price that follows before changing plans.
- Annual subscription: Check the annual renewal date and renewal terms; annual billing defers a price decision but does not guarantee an old rate forever.
- Tax or final charge differs: Taxes vary by jurisdiction, and the displayed subscription price may not equal the final amount charged.
- Plan switch has unexpected effects: Review the change confirmation for access, billing, add-ons, and credits. Hulu says a switch during a billing period can affect access to the prior service, and credits may be forfeited in some circumstances.
Special case: Hulu + Live TV
Live TV plans can combine Hulu, Disney+, ESPN, premium networks, and add-ons in different ways, so the October 2025 change should not be treated as one universal Live TV price. Channel lineups and availability vary by location and can change. Choose based on how you actually watch
- Keep Hulu if you watch regularly and the current charge is worth the service.
- Downgrade if ads are acceptable and you do not need Premium features.
- Compare a bundle if you would otherwise pay separately for its included services.
- Consider annual billing if you expect to use Hulu for most of the year, can pay upfront, and the verified annual total beats 12 monthly payments.
- Cancel if you rarely watch, only wanted one series, or would rather subscribe again when there is something specific to see.
