Short answer: Hulu does not appear to offer a broadly available 30-day standalone free trial as of August 18, 2026. The current verifiable trial is primarily a three-day Hulu + Live TV trial for eligible U.S. subscribers. Afterward, it renews at $89.99 per month with ads or $99.99 per month for the premium plan unless you cancel.
That means the old promise of “a free month of Hulu” is usually outdated. Account-specific promotions, bundles, and limited-time offers may still appear, but you should trust only the terms shown for your account at official checkout.
Does Hulu still offer a 30-day free trial?
Not as a generally available standalone offer that could be verified. Recent reporting says Hulu ended its standalone free trial on June 15, 2026, while Hulu’s Help Center still maintains a general free-trials page without clearly presenting a current one-month offer.

Older articles and search results may therefore be misleading. They often describe Hulu’s historical 30-day trial as if it were permanent. A limited promotion could still be offered to a particular account, billing partner, or audience, but there is no reason to assume that every new subscriber qualifies.

The Hulu trial available now
Hulu currently advertises a three-day free trial of Hulu + Live TV for new and eligible returning subscribers. This is not the same as a month-long trial of the cheaper standalone on-demand Hulu plan.
According to Hulu’s current Hulu + Live TV page, the advertised post-trial prices are:
- $89.99 per month for the ad-supported Hulu + Live TV plan.
- $99.99 per month for the premium version.
Those prices apply after the three-day trial unless you cancel. Hulu says pricing, channels, features, content, and compatible devices can change, so review the live checkout disclosure before confirming.
Who is eligible?
The offer is limited to eligible new and returning subscribers. Hulu does not guarantee that everyone who has never used the service, or everyone who canceled in the past, will receive a trial.

Hulu + Live TV is intended for U.S. residents who are at least 18 years old and is available in the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Prior subscriptions, recent cancellations, existing bundle accounts, promotional history, or third-party billing can affect eligibility. The terms shown during checkout are the most reliable answer for your account.
How to start the three-day trial
- Open Hulu’s official Live TV page.
- Select Start Free Trial, or the equivalent button currently displayed.
- Create or sign in to the Disney/Hulu account you want to use.
- Choose the Hulu + Live TV plan.
- Enter an accepted payment method. Payment options can vary by account and billing partner.
- Check the trial length, renewal date, monthly price, taxes, and add-ons.
- Confirm the subscription and record the renewal date immediately.
Access should begin immediately or shortly after signup, and your account should display the next billing date. Do not rely on the word “free” alone: make sure the checkout page shows a zero-cost trial and clearly states the price that follows it.
How to cancel before being charged
- Sign in to the Hulu or Disney account used for the subscription.
- Open Account or Subscription settings.
- Select the Hulu subscription.
- Choose Cancel, Cancel Subscription, or the equivalent current control.
- Complete the confirmation screens, including any retention offers.
- Save the confirmation email or take a screenshot.
- Check the account for the displayed end date and payment status.
Deleting the Hulu app does not cancel the subscription. Cancellation must be completed before the trial ends to avoid the next charge. If Apple, Google, Roku, a mobile carrier, or another partner handles billing, cancellation may need to be completed through that provider instead.

What does Hulu + Live TV include?
The three-day Live TV trial is a cable-style package rather than a simple sample of on-demand Hulu. Depending on the plan and location, it includes:
- Hulu’s on-demand streaming library.
- More than 100 live channels, subject to local availability and plan restrictions.
- Disney+ access.
- ESPN Select access through the separate ESPN app.
- Unlimited DVR for Live TV recordings.
Hulu says Live TV recordings can be stored for up to nine months. Unlimited DVR does not apply to on-demand shows. Local channels, regional programming, sports availability, and blackouts vary by location, and Hulu may require location data. Live channels contain advertising, even where some on-demand content may be ad-free under a premium plan.
Is the Live TV trial worth using?

The Live TV trial is a poor substitute for a one-month standalone trial if you only want on-demand programming. Its trial is short, and forgetting to cancel can result in an $89.99 or $99.99 monthly charge.
Legitimate alternatives to a one-month Hulu trial
Official bundles
Disney currently lists a Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max bundle at $19.99 per month with ads or $32.99 per month without ads. It also lists a Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited bundle at $35.99 per month with ads or $44.99 per month without ads. These are paid bundles, not necessarily free trials, and they make sense only if you want the additional services.

Check the current offers at Disney+ and review eligibility, renewal pricing, and billing terms. Select Hulu content may be available inside Disney+, but Disney says the full Hulu library, premium add-ons, and Live TV content remain in the Hulu app. See Disney’s Hulu-through-Disney+ guidance.
Account-specific and partner promotions
Carrier, student, device, and other partner offers can change frequently. Consider one only when the official offer identifies its expiration date, eligibility rules, post-promotion price, and cancellation terms. A coupon page or search snippet is not proof that a promotion still works.
Avoid unofficial “free Hulu accounts,” shared credentials, trial generators, and attempts to create repeated trials with new email addresses or payment methods. Multiple accounts do not guarantee eligibility and may cause an offer to be refused or removed.

- Confirm that you are using Hulu’s U.S. website.
- Check whether the account has had Hulu recently or already has a Disney, Hulu, or bundle subscription.
- Review whether Apple, Google, Roku, a carrier, or another partner controls billing.
- Turn off a VPN or location-masking service.
- Try the official website instead of an app-store signup flow.
- Read the checkout disclosure; eligibility may be account-specific.
- Contact Hulu support if Hulu advertises a trial but removes it at checkout.
If you were charged after signing up
First check the confirmation email, account history, and billing provider. Common explanations include selecting a Live TV trial rather than standalone Hulu, failing an eligibility check, choosing a premium plan or add-on, reaching the renewal date, or subscribing through a third party.
Also distinguish a temporary authorization hold from a completed subscription charge. A payment provider may briefly show a verification amount that is not the same as a finalized Hulu bill. If the charge is completed, contact the billing provider shown on the transaction and Hulu support with the account email, confirmation, and cancellation evidence.
Important U.S. and app limitations
The prices and Live TV trial described here are for the United States. Hulu’s availability and product lineup differ by market, so do not apply these terms internationally.

Use it only if the short trial matches your needs, verify every checkout term, and save proof of cancellation.
