In YouTube Studio, look under Analytics > Revenue > Transactions Revenue for membership transactions. YouTube labels them as new sign-ups or recurrences. For member totals, cancellations and revenue for the last billing period, use Earn > Memberships. In India, a member may need to verify or re-enter payment details for a recurring membership under RBI eMandate requirements, so a renewal can be interrupted on the member’s payment side.
Where to find renewals and recurrences
Open YouTube Studio > Analytics > Revenue > Transactions Revenue. The card reports transaction counts for the selected time period and groups transactions as new sign-ups or recurrences. YouTube’s official guide puts it simply: “Transactions are either new sign-ups or recurrences.” A recurrence is a recurring membership transaction; it is not a count of every person currently entitled to perks.
For a more detailed membership-revenue breakdown, the guide also points to Analytics > Revenue > How you make money > Memberships. The exact values shown depend on the date range selected in Analytics.
What the Earn > Memberships tab shows
Go to YouTube Studio > Earn > Memberships for a program-level summary. YouTube lists total and active members, revenue for the last billing period, member counts by level, sign-ups and cancellations; cancellation feedback may also be available.

- Total members can include people who cancelled but retain perk access until the end of their billing period.
- Active members excludes members who have cancelled.
- Members by level shows how membership counts are distributed across the channel’s levels.
- Sign-ups and cancellations describe membership changes, not the same thing as transaction recurrences.

How to read member changes over time
In Analytics > Audience, the Total Member card can show total and active members over time. Related measures distinguish additions and cancellations from the end of perk access:

- Members Gained counts members gained.
- Members Canceled counts cancellations.
- Members Lost means cancelled members who lost perk access when their billing period ended.
That timing matters: a cancellation does not necessarily mean the person immediately disappears from the total-member count or loses perks that day.
What India’s eMandate requirements can mean for a renewal
YouTube says members in India may need to verify or re-enter payment details to maintain recurring memberships under RBI eMandate requirements. Some banks may not support recurring payments. This is a possible member-side verification step or interruption, not a claim that every Indian renewal fails.

The Studio transaction categories show whether transactions are new sign-ups or recurrences; YouTube’s public guidance does not say that this report identifies why an individual member’s payment did not continue. For an actual charge date, payment method or transaction status for your own membership, check the relevant account or payment history. A creator’s Studio does not establish the outcome of a member’s bank transaction.
Keep transaction counts, membership revenue and payouts separate
The Transactions Revenue card counts events within the Analytics date range. The Memberships tab’s Revenue card is described as earnings for the last billing period. Neither should be read as an individual payout amount.

YouTube says creators receive 70% of membership revenue recognized by Google after local sales taxes and other fees are deducted; the member’s country or region and platform can affect deductions. Membership revenue and payment history are separate views. AdSense for YouTube is the payment programme, and YouTube describes a beta payment-details view in the Studio mobile app for eligible creators, including payment progress and payment history. Why the next renewal date may not be exactly one month later
YouTube says a billing period can be 28, 30 or 31 days depending on the calendar month. Its example says a September membership provides 30 days of perk access before the next payment is due. So “monthly” does not mean every renewal is exactly 30 days after the previous one. The billing-period length can affect when a recurrence appears relative to a calendar date.
What to check if a renewal seems missing
- Choose the relevant Analytics date range. Transactions Revenue counts transactions within the selected period, so first confirm that the range includes the date you are checking.
- Check both transaction and membership views. Look at Transactions Revenue for recurrence events, then Earn > Memberships for active and total members, cancellations and the last billing-period revenue.
- Account for access after cancellation. A cancelled member may retain perks through the remainder of the paid period; Members Lost reflects when that access ends.
- For an India member’s payment issue, check the member’s payment account. eMandate verification or bank support may affect recurring payment. Studio’s report does not diagnose a member’s bank outcome.
- Use payment history for payout questions. A transaction count or membership-revenue card is not a substitute for AdSense for YouTube payment details.
YouTube’s public documentation defines these cards and metrics, but does not establish exact row-level presentation for an individual channel or guarantee a reporting delay. Refer to the official membership analytics guide for the published metric descriptions.
