How to watch in the United States
- Open the official Max website or Max app.
- Search for Music Box: Wizkid: Long Live Lagos or Wizkid: Long Live Lagos.
- Select the documentary’s title page rather than a trailer or related music video.
- Sign in with an eligible subscription or choose a plan.
U.S. listings also identify Max through Prime Video Channels and YouTube TV as possible access routes. Prime membership alone does not automatically include Max: Max/HBO access may require a separate channel subscription or add-on. Likewise, a general YouTube TV or Hulu subscription should not be assumed to include the film; verify the specific HBO/Max entitlement.
The most direct option for someone who wants only this documentary is usually a qualifying Max plan. Max’s U.S. help page currently lists Basic with Ads at $9.99 per month, Standard at $16.99 per month and Premium at $20.99 per month. Taxes, promotions and third-party billing can change the final price. You do not need Premium solely for this movie; choose it only if you want benefits such as 4K where available or four simultaneous streams.

Where to watch in selected international markets
Showmax has country-specific pages listing the documentary in markets including Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi, Mauritius and the Republic of the Congo. Start with the Nigeria title page or check the relevant local Showmax site. A listing in one country does not prove that the film is available throughout Africa or in every Showmax territory.
Showmax’s Nigerian pages currently show price signals of ₦3,600 monthly for an Entertainment Mobile option and ₦6,500 for an Entertainment plan. These figures are Nigeria-specific page listings, not universal Showmax prices. Plan eligibility, device limits, taxes, promotions and catalog rights vary by country. A mobile plan may restrict viewing to phones or tablets.

Watching while traveling
Streaming rights follow territory, not simply the country where an account was created. If you are abroad, first check whether your existing service is officially available in the country where you are located and whether the documentary appears in that local catalog. A U.S. Max subscription may not provide identical access overseas.
Max’s travel and availability guidance explains that service access depends on supported countries and regions. If the title is unavailable, look for an authorized local platform such as Showmax where it operates, or wait for a licensed release.

A VPN is not a guaranteed way to watch the film. Streaming services may detect VPN or proxy traffic, require payment-country verification, limit playback while traveling or prohibit location masking under their terms. Do not treat an IP-address change as proof that playback will work.

What to do if you cannot find the title
- Search the full title and then the shorter title.
- Open the service’s title page in a browser instead of relying on the home-screen carousel.
- Confirm that your account has Max/HBO content access rather than only a base subscription.
- If using Prime Video, YouTube TV or another provider, verify the exact channel or add-on.
- Update the app, sign out and sign back in, then try again.
- Check the catalog for your current country using a local listing service such as JustWatch’s U.S. page.
If playback fails while traveling, disable any VPN or proxy and retry, confirm that the service is supported locally, and review the provider’s travel rules. A mobile-only plan can also fail on a television or computer if its device restrictions do not permit that playback.

Runtime metadata differs by platform. Depending on the listing, expect roughly 80–86 minutes. Warner Bros. Discovery’s scheduled slot suggests approximately 85 minutes, JustWatch lists 86 minutes and Showmax lists 1 hour 20 minutes.
An official trailer is available through Warner Bros. Discovery’s property page.
Is there a free authorized stream?
No free authorized U.S. option was listed in the checked JustWatch listing at the time of research. That does not mean a free promotion or additional licensed option can never appear. Check the current provider listing before subscribing.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: U.S. viewers should start with Max; viewers in selected African markets should check their local Showmax catalog. Search both title variations, verify the exact subscription entitlement, and do not assume that a VPN will bypass regional restrictions.
