Peacock lists it as a 2024 PG musical fantasy with a runtime of 2 hours 40 minutes. Digital storefront listings can show slightly different lengths depending on the edition, so expect a runtime of roughly two hours and 40 minutes. Peacock’s official listing is the best way to confirm the title you are opening.
Where is Wicked streaming?
Wicked is streaming on Peacock in the United States. Peacock describes the film as streaming now and exclusively on its service. It is not included with a standard Netflix, Disney+, Max, or Hulu subscription based on the U.S. availability checked for this guide.
#1 Best Overall
- Digital Copy
“Streaming” does not mean free. You need a Peacock account and an eligible subscription plan, unless you already receive Peacock through a bundle or promotion. Plan names, prices, promotions, and availability can change, so check Peacock’s current sign-up page before paying.
Peacock is generally available through supported smart TVs, streaming players, phones, tablets, web browsers, and game consoles. Device compatibility can change; use Peacock’s supported-device information if you are unsure whether your television or streaming player is compatible.
Peacock also has a sing-along version
Peacock’s official movie page specifically promotes Wicked Sing-Along as streaming only on Peacock. That is a distinct presentation, not something you should assume is included with every digital rental or purchase.
Inside Peacock, search for Wicked (2024) and, if available in your region and account, Wicked Sing-Along. Look for edition labels such as “Sing-Along,” “Bonus X-Ray Edition,” “Theatrical version,” “4K,” or “HD.”

Can you rent or buy Wicked digitally?
Yes. If you do not want another streaming subscription, you can rent or buy the film through digital storefronts. The Prime Video Store and Apple TV Store are among the options identified in the U.S. listings checked for this article.
Rank #2
| Option | Best for | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Peacock subscription | Streaming, both films, and the sing-along edition | Requires an eligible Peacock plan; access depends on Peacock’s licensing. |
| Digital rental | One movie night | Rental playback and expiration rules vary by retailer. |
| Digital purchase | Repeat viewing in a retailer’s library | It is licensed access subject to the retailer’s account and terms, not unrestricted ownership. |
| 4K UHD, Blu-ray, or DVD | Collectors and offline playback | Check that the edition is the first film and that you have a compatible player. |
Renting through Prime Video
- Open the Prime Video Store.
- Search for Wicked (2024).
- Confirm the year, cast, title artwork, and edition.
- Choose Rent or Buy.
- Check whether the listing is HD or 4K and whether bonus content is included.
- Complete the transaction and watch from the account library.
Amazon says you do not need a Prime membership to rent or buy titles from the Prime Video Store. However, having Prime does not automatically mean that every store title is included with the subscription. Amazon’s viewing information distinguishes store rentals and purchases from subscription access.
JustWatch showed a U.S. Amazon Video rental listing at $3.99 when checked August 16, 2026. Treat that as a dated price observation, not a guarantee. Confirm the final price at checkout, since promotions, taxes, video quality, and editions can change the amount.
Renting or buying through Apple
- Open the Apple TV app or Apple TV Store.
- Search for Wicked (2024).
- Check the year, cast, subtitles, audio options, and video quality.
- Select the rental or purchase option.
- Watch through the Apple account used for the transaction.
The Apple TV Store edition indexed by JustWatch included 4K, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos indicators. Those formats are not guaranteed for every device or region: playback also depends on the edition, display, audio system, compatible app, and account location. Check the specific listing before purchasing. See the current U.S. availability listing on JustWatch for a comparison, then verify details directly in the retailer’s store.
Which way is best?
Choose Peacock if you already subscribe
If Peacock is already part of your household’s subscriptions, streaming Wicked there is usually the simplest option because there is no additional per-film rental charge. Peacock is also the most relevant choice if you want the promoted sing-along version or plan to watch both films.
Do not subscribe solely because a third-party listing shows a particular monthly price. JustWatch displayed Peacock subscription listings of $10.99 and $16.99 per month for different tiers when checked, but those are observed third-party prices. Confirm Peacock’s current plans and features before signing up.

Choose a digital rental for one viewing
A rental is often the practical choice for a single movie night, especially if you do not expect to use Peacock for other programming. Compare the current rental price with the cost of starting Peacock for one month. Remember that rental windows vary: retailers commonly impose both a period to begin playback and a shorter period to finish after playback starts.
Choose a digital purchase for repeat viewing
Buying digitally may suit viewers who expect to watch the film repeatedly or prefer keeping it in an Apple, Amazon, or another retailer’s library. Compare the edition carefully, because bonus features, audio formats, subtitles, and resolution may differ.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute“Buy” should not be read as unlimited ownership of the underlying film. Digital purchases generally provide licensed access through the retailer’s account, app, supported devices, and terms. Universal’s home-entertainment materials describe digital access as subject to retailer terms; therefore, avoid calling a digital purchase permanently guaranteed access. Universal’s home-entertainment information provides the relevant qualification.
Choose physical media for collection or offline viewing
A 4K UHD, Blu-ray, or DVD copy is worth considering if you collect films, have unreliable internet, or want playback that is not dependent on a changing streaming catalog. Verify the release information for Wicked separately from Wicked: For Good, and confirm that your player supports the disc format.
How to avoid choosing the wrong title
Searching only for “Wicked” can return the 2024 film, the sequel, the stage musical, or unrelated older titles. Before pressing play or paying, confirm at least two of these details:
Rank #4
- Genre: Musical
- Number of Discs: 1
- Number of Tracks: 0
- Rating: PG
- Director: Jon M. Chu
- The year is 2024.
- Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande appear in the cast.
- The artwork identifies the film as Wicked, not Wicked: For Good.
- The runtime is roughly two hours and 40 minutes, allowing for listing differences.
Is the sequel included too?
Yes. Peacock reported that both Wicked and Wicked: For Good became available on Peacock beginning May 21, 2026. They remain separate films and should not be treated as different editions of one title. Peacock’s update about the films lists them separately.
Watch them in this order:
- Wicked (2024)
- Wicked: For Good (2025 sequel)
Common problems and fixes
Search results show a paid listing instead of Peacock
Search engines, device interfaces, and availability aggregators may surface a rental or purchase page first. Open the official Peacock listing directly, confirm that your account region is the United States, and search within the Peacock app for Wicked (2024).
The sing-along edition is missing
You may have opened the standard film, a digital rental, or an app listing that has not refreshed. Search Peacock for Wicked Sing-Along, check the edition label, update or restart the app, and confirm regional availability. Do not assume that a Prime Video or Apple rental includes Peacock’s sing-along presentation.
You have Prime but still see a rental charge
That is not necessarily an error. Prime Video includes both subscription programming and a separate store. A Prime membership does not automatically include every movie available in the store; Amazon confirms that customers can rent or buy store titles without Prime.
The price is different
Digital prices are volatile. The $3.99 rental price cited above was observed in the U.S. JustWatch listing on August 16, 2026. Promotions, HD versus 4K, taxes, editions, and account-specific pricing can change the final total. Always verify the checkout price.

The movie will not play in 4K
A 4K label does not guarantee 4K playback. You may need a 4K-compatible display, a supported app or streaming device, sufficient bandwidth, and a compatible HDMI chain. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos also depend on the title edition, device, display, audio equipment, app, and region.
What about viewers outside the U.S.?
This availability guide is U.S.-specific. Streaming rights are geographic, so Peacock and the same digital storefront options may not apply elsewhere. Check the local version of a legitimate availability guide and your regional storefront directly. Do not assume that a VPN provides lawful access or bypasses licensing restrictions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is *Wicked* free on Peacock?
It is available through an eligible Peacock subscription, but it should not be described as free. You need an account and an eligible plan unless access comes through a bundle or promotion.
Does Amazon Prime include *Wicked*?
Not necessarily. Prime Video may list the film in its separate store for rent or purchase. Amazon says a Prime membership is not required for those transactions, but Prime membership alone does not guarantee the movie is included.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Can I watch the *Wicked* sing-along version elsewhere?
Peacock’s official page promotes the sing-along version as streaming only on Peacock. Do not assume a digital rental or purchase includes the same edition.
What should I watch first: *Wicked* or *Wicked: For Good*?
Watch *Wicked* (2024) first, followed by *Wicked: For Good* (2025). They are separate films.
The Bottom Line
For U.S. viewers, use Peacock for subscription streaming, both films, and the promoted sing-along edition. Choose a digital rental for a one-time viewing, a digital purchase for repeat access in a retailer’s library, or physical media for offline playback and collecting.
