UFC 311 was held on Saturday, January 18, 2025—not scheduled for a future date. Renato Moicano replaced him on short notice, and Makhachev submitted Moicano in the first round.
The event took place at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. In the United States, the early prelims began at 6 p.m. ET, the prelims at 8 p.m. ET, and the main card at 10 p.m. ET. The main card was distributed as an ESPN+ pay-per-view; international availability depended on the viewer’s country.

Why Makhachev vs. Tsarukyan 2 did not happen
Tsarukyan was removed from the UFC 311 main event on January 17, one day before the event. UFC initially characterized the reason as a medical issue unrelated to his weight cut; a subsequent UFC report identified back problems. The change was not a cancellation of the event. Renato Moicano, who had been scheduled to fight Beneil Dariush, stepped in as Makhachev’s replacement opponent.

The final event title was therefore UFC 311: Makhachev vs. Moicano, even though the original Tsarukyan matchup remains in search results and older promotional material.

Watching at a bar
UFC’s event listing included a “Find a bar” option for viewers who preferred to watch at a sports bar or other public venue. That tool helps locate a venue; it is not a separate broadcast platform. Call the venue before going, since bars can have their own cover charges, reservations, blackout policies or event schedules.
How viewers outside the U.S. watched UFC 311
ESPN+ was the U.S. distribution method and should not be treated as a worldwide UFC service. Broadcast rights differed by territory. UFC’s international viewing guide provided country-specific information for regions including Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, continental Europe, and Australia, among others.

What changed from the originally announced card?
| Original plan | Final event |
|---|---|
| Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan 2 | Islam Makhachev vs. Renato Moicano |
| Renato Moicano vs. Beneil Dariush | Moicano moved into the lightweight title fight; Dariush was removed |
| Almeida vs. Spivac on the prelims | Almeida vs. Spivac moved to the main card |
That late change explains why some older broadcast guides show Tsarukyan in the main event, Moicano against Dariush, and Almeida versus Spivac in a different position. Those listings describe the planned card, not what actually took place.
