The best ways to watch The View without cable
You can watch The View live without a traditional cable subscription in one of three legitimate ways: receive your local ABC station with an antenna, subscribe to a live-TV streaming service that carries your local ABC affiliate, or sign in to ABC with an eligible participating TV provider.
ABC lists The View on weekdays at 11 a.m. Eastern, 10 a.m. Central and 10 a.m. Pacific—often written as 11e/10c/p. The exact broadcast experience depends on your local ABC station and location. If you do not need to watch at broadcast time, ABC directs viewers to Hulu for full episodes.
| Method | Best for | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Indoor TV antenna | Watching local ABC without a monthly bill | Whether your address can receive the local ABC affiliate |
| YouTube TV | A live channel guide, streaming access and provider sign-in | Whether your ZIP code receives your local ABC station |
| Hulu + Live TV | Live ABC plus Hulu’s on-demand library | Local-channel availability, regional restrictions and plan details |
| ABC online or app access | People who already have an eligible TV provider | Provider authentication and local-stream availability |
| Hulu on demand | Watching complete episodes later | That same-time live viewing is not required |
1. Use an antenna to watch the local ABC broadcast
If your home can receive the local ABC affiliate, an indoor TV antenna may let you watch The View without cable or a streaming subscription. This is usually the lowest-cost long-term option because the antenna is a one-time purchase rather than a recurring service.

Mount the antenna high, near a window facing local broadcast towers (Check "dtv gov maps" for available channels), to avoid obstacles and interference. An antenna does not guarantee ABC reception. Results depend on your distance from the broadcast tower, terrain, nearby buildings, building materials, antenna placement and whether the station transmits on a VHF or UHF frequency. An apartment, basement or home with substantial obstruction may have a different result from a nearby house.
How to set up an antenna
- Check local broadcast coverage for your address or ZIP code before buying. Confirm that an ABC affiliate is realistically receivable at your location.
- Connect the antenna to the television’s antenna or RF input.
- Open the television’s channel settings and select Channel Scan, Auto Program or the equivalent label.
- Choose Antenna or Air, not Cable, when prompted.
- Run the scan, then test the ABC channel at the time The View is scheduled.
- If reception is weak, try a higher or different window placement and rescan. Do not assume that a larger advertised range guarantees a usable ABC signal.
An antenna is the right choice if avoiding monthly fees matters more than having a cloud DVR, an app-based guide or access away from home. It is less suitable if your local ABC signal is unavailable or unreliable.
2. Stream live ABC with YouTube TV
YouTube TV is a strong paid option if you want a conventional live-TV guide without a cable box. Its documentation lists ABC among the network destinations available for TV Everywhere sign-in, and the service carries broadcast networks in supported home areas.
The important limitation is local availability. YouTube TV says its channel lineup depends on the subscriber’s home area and provides a ZIP-code availability check. Confirm that the service lists your local ABC affiliate before subscribing; do not rely solely on the fact that ABC is generally advertised as part of the service.
How to use YouTube TV for The View
- Use YouTube TV’s official availability checker and enter your home ZIP code.
- Confirm that the listed local ABC station is included.
- Subscribe only after checking the current plan, price, device support and any applicable terms.
- Open the live guide around 11 a.m. Eastern, 10 a.m. Central or 10 a.m. Pacific, depending on your time zone.
- If you prefer ABC’s own website or app, try selecting YouTube TV when ABC asks you to choose a participating TV provider.
This option makes the most sense when you want a live guide and streaming convenience, and when your local ABC affiliate is confirmed. Prices, plan names, trials and channel lineups can change, so they should be checked immediately before publication or purchase.
3. Use Hulu + Live TV for live ABC and on-demand episodes
Hulu + Live TV serves two different needs. ABC’s official The View page directs viewers to Hulu for full episodes, while Hulu’s live-TV offering advertises ABC among its live channels. That means Hulu may work both as a live-TV replacement and as the official destination for watching episodes later.

Do not confuse ordinary Hulu on-demand access with a guaranteed live ABC feed. Live local-channel availability, regional restrictions and location-data requirements apply. Not every Hulu plan or address necessarily includes the same live local station.
Choose the right Hulu experience
- Choose Hulu + Live TV if you want to watch the local ABC broadcast at approximately the scheduled time and also want Hulu’s broader on-demand library.
- Choose Hulu on demand if watching a complete episode later is sufficient and you do not need a same-time broadcast.
- Check your location first using Hulu’s local-channel information. Confirm the plan includes live ABC in your area rather than assuming every Hulu subscription does.
Hulu is particularly convenient for viewers who already subscribe to it, but its live-TV price, plan language, local lineup and commercial terms should be rechecked before signing up.
4. Watch through ABC with a participating provider
ABC maintains online viewing and live-stream destinations. If you already pay for an eligible participating TV provider, visit ABC’s official website or use its supported app and choose the provider-sign-in option when prompted.
This route is called provider-authenticated streaming. It does not mean that the complete live ABC feed is universally free to everyone. Access can depend on:
- whether your provider participates;
- whether your provider carries the local ABC affiliate;
- your location and the local station’s streaming rights;
- the particular program or stream available at that moment; and
- whether the ABC website or app accepts your provider credentials.
YouTube TV’s documentation specifically identifies ABC as a supported TV Everywhere destination, so YouTube TV subscribers may be able to authenticate on ABC directly. Other providers may have different arrangements.
Basic ABC sign-in steps
- Open ABC’s official website or supported app.
- Choose the live or viewing option for ABC, where available.
- Select Sign in or Choose your TV provider.
- Pick your provider and enter the provider account credentials.
- If the stream is unavailable, confirm that your provider carries the local ABC station and that location services or other required location information is enabled.
What does not count as a reliable free live stream?
Be cautious with websites that promise a free ABC stream without identifying a legitimate broadcaster, provider or distribution right. Unofficial mirror streams can disappear during the program, expose you to deceptive downloads and ads, and create legal, privacy and security risks. The antenna, official ABC access, Hulu and legitimate live-TV services provide safer routes.

Also, a service designed to rebroadcast prerecorded video is not a solution for watching The View. StreamNeo, for example, is described as a cloud tool for continuously looping a user’s own prerecorded video to supported live platforms. That is a broadcaster or creator workflow, not a viewer service for receiving ABC.

Choose an antenna if you:
- want to avoid a recurring subscription;
- watch primarily on a television at home;
- are willing to check reception and perform a channel scan; and
- live where the local ABC affiliate can be received over the air.
Choose a live-TV streaming service if you:
- want an app-based live guide;
- need to watch on supported devices rather than only through a television tuner;
- want features such as DVR or multi-device viewing; and
- have confirmed that your ZIP code receives local ABC.
Choose ABC provider sign-in if you:
- already pay for an eligible live-TV provider;
- prefer ABC’s own website or app experience; and
- can authenticate successfully and receive the local stream at your location.
Choose Hulu on demand if you:
- mainly want full episodes rather than a guaranteed same-time broadcast;
- already use Hulu; or
- want The View alongside Hulu’s wider on-demand catalog.
Troubleshooting: why you may not see The View
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The antenna finds no ABC channel | Weak signal, poor placement or an incompatible local transmission | Check coverage for your address, reposition the antenna and run another scan. A stronger advertised antenna range is not a guarantee. |
| The streaming service shows ABC generally but not your station | Local affiliate availability varies by ZIP code | Use the provider’s local-channel checker and confirm the station before subscribing. |
| ABC asks for a provider login | The stream requires authentication | Select an eligible participating provider and sign in. A general internet connection alone may not provide access. |
| Hulu has episodes but no live ABC | You may have an on-demand plan, or live ABC may not be available locally | Check the exact Hulu plan and local-channel listing. |
| The program is not available at the expected time | Local schedules, time zones or station programming can differ | Check the local ABC schedule and use the 11e/10c/p listing as the national reference point. |
Bottom line
For the least expensive cable-free setup, first check whether an antenna can receive your local ABC affiliate. For the most cable-like online experience, compare YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV—but verify your ZIP-code lineup before paying. If you already have an eligible provider, try ABC’s own authenticated website or app. If live viewing is not essential, Hulu is the official on-demand destination identified by ABC for full episodes.
