The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards aired in Canada on Sunday, September 15, 2024, on CTV2, CTV.ca, and the CTV app. The ceremony began at 8 p.m. Eastern, or 5 p.m. Pacific, and ran for approximately three hours. Because the event has passed, this is an archival guide to the original Canadian broadcast arrangements; current replay availability may differ.
Which Emmy Awards were held in September 2024?
This guide concerns the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 15, 2024. Eugene Levy and Dan Levy hosted the ceremony, becoming the first father-and-son hosting duo for the Emmys. The Television Academy announced the ceremony date and the hosting details.
It was not the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, which had been delayed until January 2024. Nor was it the Creative Arts Emmy ceremony, held separately on September 7 and 8.
How Canadians watched the 2024 Emmys
- Television: Viewers with a cable, satellite, or live-TV package carrying CTV2 could watch the ceremony there.
- Online: The Canadian broadcast was also listed on CTV.ca.
- Mobile and connected devices: The CTV app was another listed Canadian viewing route.
- Sign in if requested: The original announcement identifies CTV.ca and the CTV app as streaming destinations, but it does not establish that access was universally free. Depending on the viewer’s account, location, and platform, a participating TV-provider login may have been required.
Bell Media’s Canadian announcement specifically named CTV2, CTV.ca, and the CTV app. It is more precise to use those designations than to simply say that the ceremony aired on “CTV.”

Could Canadians watch on ABC or Hulu?
ABC and Hulu were part of the U.S. distribution plan: ABC carried the live U.S. broadcast, and a next-day Hulu release was announced for the American market. Those instructions were not the primary Canadian viewing route.
For viewers in Canada, the relevant broadcaster information was CTV2, CTV.ca, and the CTV app. The U.S. Hulu announcement should not be treated as confirmation of Canadian availability.

What if the CTV stream did not appear?
For the original live broadcast, viewers could try the following:
- Confirm that they were accessing the service from Canada.
- Refresh CTV.ca or relaunch the CTV app.
- Check for an available app update.
- Verify that their TV-provider credentials were correct if a sign-in prompt appeared.
- Check that their TV package included CTV2 if watching through a television provider.
Do not assume that a live listing guarantees a permanent replay. The original broadcast announcement confirms the live Canadian distribution, not continuing on-demand access in 2026. For a missed ceremony, check CTV and the Television Academy’s official Emmy pages directly.

Do not confuse the Primetime Emmys with the Creative Arts Emmys
The separate dates and distribution arrangements matter if a search result refers broadly to the “September Emmys.” The Television Academy’s category and ceremony information distinguishes the events.
