The Last of Us season 2, episode 1, “Future Days,” premiered in the U.S. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. It aired on HBO and became available to stream on Max at the same time. The premiere has passed; check Max or your local listings for current availability.
Premiere date and U.S. times
HBO scheduled “Future Days” for 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific on April 13, 2025. That translated to:

The United States was observing daylight-saving time that day, so those were local daylight times. HBO’s official announcement confirmed the April 13 premiere and 9 p.m. ET/PT schedule.

The episode originally aired on HBO and streamed on Max simultaneously. HBO was the traditional television option for viewers with a participating cable, satellite, or live-TV package that included the channel. Max was the on-demand streaming option; it required an eligible subscription or provider access.

Because the premiere took place in 2025, this is now a catalog question rather than a live-event listing. Search Max for The Last of Us and select season 2, episode 1, “Future Days,” to check whether it is currently available in your region. Catalogs and subscription terms can change, and access to HBO through a TV provider does not automatically mean every television package includes Max access. The U.S. date and services do not apply everywhere. Contemporary listings reported the episode arriving on Monday, April 14, 2025, in the United Kingdom and Australia, reflecting local scheduling and time zones. Other countries may use different services, dates, or release times. Check the local HBO, Max, or regional distributor listing rather than assuming the U.S. schedule applies.

Accessibility option
Max announced an American Sign Language version alongside the season 2 episodes, beginning with the premiere. See the official ASL announcement. Availability and presentation can vary by region and device; check the episode’s options in the service you use.

If the episode is missing
- Search the series page and choose season 2, episode 1, “Future Days,” rather than relying on a generic “episode 1” search.
- Refresh the app, then close and reopen it if the listing does not appear. Check the HBO schedule if you are looking for the channel broadcast.
- If you have HBO through a TV provider but cannot access Max, use the provider-linked sign-in or activation flow; steps depend on the provider.
- If you are outside the U.S., check your local service’s listing. A different date, service name, or catalog may apply.
