2. The Bourne Supremacy (2004)
The Bourne Supremacy continues Bourne’s attempt to leave his former life behind. His past catches up with him, drawing him back into the covert world he is trying to escape.
Watch it directly after The Bourne Identity. The film expands the consequences of the first movie instead of resetting the story, so its impact is strongest when the films are viewed in order.
3. The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)
The Bourne Ultimatum is the third film in the original trilogy and completes the trilogy’s central investigation into Bourne’s identity and the covert programs connected to him.

It should come before both later franchise entries. In particular, watching Ultimatum first makes the overlapping chronology of The Bourne Legacy easier to follow without interrupting the momentum of the original trilogy.
4. The Bourne Legacy (2012)
The Bourne Legacy is the franchise’s chronology wrinkle. It is not a fourth Jason Bourne adventure: Jeremy Renner leads the film as Aaron Cross, another operative affected by the covert programs in the Bourne universe.

Some of the film’s events take place during the same general period as The Bourne Ultimatum. There is no practical benefit to switching between the two movies scene by scene. For a first watch, finish Ultimatum and then watch Legacy. This preserves the original trilogy’s conclusion and then adds the parallel-program perspective.
If you are interested in the complete film franchise, include The Bourne Legacy. If you only want Jason Bourne’s direct story, it is the one film you can leave out; that four-film path is Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum, and Jason Bourne.
5. Jason Bourne (2016)
Finish with Jason Bourne, which brings Matt Damon back to the title role. It is the latest released film in the series and works best after the original trilogy and, for a complete franchise viewing, The Bourne Legacy.
Saving it for last also avoids treating the Aaron Cross spinoff as if it were a direct Jason Bourne sequel. The 2016 film is the final stop in the five-film viewing order covered here.

Watch it if you want all five released Bourne films. The film is part of the larger franchise even though Jason Bourne is not its central character. It broadens the series by showing another operative and another angle on the programs that connect the films.
Skip it if you want only the Matt Damon storyline. The direct Bourne path is:
