What order should you watch the Fifty Shades movies in?
- Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) introduces Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey and the relationship at the center of the trilogy. Peacock’s film synopsis describes a young woman beginning a relationship with a controlling businessman.
- Fifty Shades Darker (2017) comes second. Universal Pictures describes it as expanding on events set in motion by the first film.
- Fifty Shades Freed (2018) is the third and final film. Universal calls it the climactic chapter, bringing the story begun in the 2015 and 2017 films to a conclusion.
This is both the release order and the story order. The official material cited here does not establish an alternate or chronological viewing sequence.

Where can you stream or buy the films?
Peacock announced all three films on its service when that post was published. That announcement is not a guarantee of current availability: streaming catalogs change, and rights differ by country. Check your local service catalog before subscribing or renting.
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment announced Fifty Shades Darker for Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand, and Fifty Shades Freed for digital release, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand. See the Darker home-release announcement and the Freed home-release announcement. These releases establish options for the individual films, not a currently available three-film boxed set; check the exact listing and included titles if buying a collection.
